Pur-ly Beautiful 10 Piece Collection

Hello all!

A few months ago, TeamBuy had a promotion where you paid $20 for $40 worth of Pur Minerals product. Since I go through a Pur Minerals 4-in-1 foundation every 4 months, I knew this was a deal that I would actually use. I bought two of these coupons and almost forgot to use one because I was in Montreal and only remembered on the day it was going to expire that I needed to redeem it! Luckily, my sister sent me the redemption code that day!

So, of course I couldn’t JUST get the foundation, I had to get some fun stuff too and what I’m always a sucker for are value packs or kits. Sure enough, there was a 10 piece value kit celebrating 10 years of bestsellers! Just to warn you, this post is pic-heavy!

This is my all-time favourite foundation because it feels like I'm not wearing any makeup while acting as a concealer and having SPF 15 protection. It evens out my skin tone, makes my skin look flawless and takes me 30 seconds to apply! The advised mode of application is with the provided chisel brush which has a flat top with the slogan,"Dip, Draw, Dust" on the handle. I cheat, I actually don't "draw". I just dip and dust. I know, I'm such a rebel.

This is Marble Powder in Pink which is a mineral blush pressed powder that gives a light rosy glow to cheeks, lips and eyes. I almost finished the one I have, so now I have a new one!

This is an eyeshadow duo in Vanilla Feldspar and Sketch which Pur has named: Bombshell. It's a fairly matte neutral duo, applies smoothly and is fairly pigmented.

This is Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Rose Opal which is a mineral lip gloss infused with vitamins and something called Maxi-lip which causes lips to appear more plump. This is definitely a lip gloss that is quite pigmented and isn't sticky at all.

This is Pur Minerals Impact Mascara and is a product I have not tried yet. It is supposed to provide budge-proof colour and conditioning for lashes. I always feel like most mascaras are the same in terms of formula, but that could just be me...

DSCF3405
This is the Mineral Moisture Infusion oil-free moisturizer that's made with aloe vera, white lily essence, green tea and vitamin E extracts. It can also be used as soothing moisture mask or applied over your regular night cream to keep skin hydrated at night. It has a gel-like consistency and feels similar to my Skoah Hydradew Mask.

This is the Revitalizing Face Wash Souffle Facial Cleanser that combines mandarin and lemon peel extracts to gently cleanse the skin. It's also free of sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) and other chemical dyes that normally strip the skin of its natural oils so your skin won't have that tight crispy KFC feeling.

This is an eye pencil I've been wanting for awhile. This is in the colour Onyx and has a smudger on the other side for creating a smoky eye. It's also one of those "self-sharpening" mechanical pencils that you twist to get more product out. I have this pencil in three other colours and amazingly enough I didn't have black! They apply very smoothly and don't tug AT ALL on your eyelid. In terms of smoothness, this pencil is up there with the Urban Decay ones for me.

This is the Brow Duo Brow Fix in Hazlenut, another product that I have not tried before. On one end is a sculpting wax to shape the brows (mine are non existent!) and the other end is a mineral brow powder to fill them in. I didn't really like the brow powder...I found application to be a little uneven because I had to apply quite a lot of pressure for any colour to appear.

This is a little bonus pack that was thrown in for spending more than $25 (I spent $28). Considering one of the eyeshadows is $14, I'd say that I lucked out! Graphite is a beautiful darker grey perfect for creating a smoky eye. In addition to the eyeshadow there is also another mascara and Onyx eye pencil (I gave it to a co-worker of mine since I really didn't need two). Come to think of it, I should have given her the mascara too...

Each eyeshadow has a little mirror and applicator brush built right in which is cute, but really makes packaging bulky...

And as always, a little sample of product! I think I have 2 other bottles of this Colour Correcting Primer thanks to my Glymm and Luxe Box subscriptions!

Whew that was quite a lot of stuff! I'm happy with the 10 piece collection because I know I'll use all of it, with the exception of the brow pencil, so 90% use ain't bad!

Crazy Cat Corner–Best Buddies…At The Time…

Hi Cat Peeps!

This was taken when we had first moved into our place and both Snow and Yoshi were scared of everything so on their very first night here, they spent it together :-) Now, is different story though! Yoshi is constantly chasing Snow and we're always breaking apart fights. There's no way in cat hell that they would sleep on the same surface together and can be found on opposite sides of the room. It's sad, I was hoping they would eventually get along, but alas no such thing was meant to happen...

L'Occitane Pivoine Flora Set

Hello again!

I can't believe I'm still posting about things that I received over Christmas and it's the end of January...and the worst part is, there are still MORE products...anyway, this is L'Occitane's Pivoine "Peony" Flora Travel Set which I find to be a more mature scent and not something I would normally choose for myself, but it's nothing a scent that I couldn't learn to appreciate. This travel set includes: Incredible Lip Shine, Hand Cream, Beauty Cream and as a bonus a cute little bottle of Pivoine perfume.
DSCF3572 DSCF3573
This lip shine is supposed to enhance the natural rose colour of your lips with the help of peony extracts so it has a different sheen on each person.

The description says that Pivoine Flora Eau de Parfum blends the "delicacy of peonies with the sensuality of magnolias in a captivating floral accord marked with a woody trail. A true elixir of femininity" Wow. Sounds like a good one ;-)

DSCF3580

All in all, a really cute set with great product sizes. The lip shine is a nude shade and not sticky at all. The perfume was a nice bonus, but again it's not really a scent I would wear all the time because I feel old when I wear it! Until next time!

NOTD - Silver Dots and a Little Bit of Fairy Dust

Hi Everyone!

Unfortunately, "The Black Knight" was chipping on me like crazy and I'm really not sure why. At any rate, it was bothering me and I had to try something different and this is what I came up with! Doing this design by hand made me realize how much a stamping plate would have saved some time. I liked how it turned out though although the coat of CG's Fairy Dust doesn't show up on camera very well, it makes everything so sparkly in real-life!

Sugarpill Delights!

Hello Readers! So, yayy, it's Friday which is always nice. I don't work a regular M-F job, but I can still appreciate the weekend :-)

For today I'd like to share with you a makeup line called Sugarpill that I have been really excited to try. I took advantage of their "Pink Friday" sale in November, but didn't actually get my package until the first week of January. I blame Christmas and Customs. There is free worldwide shipping on orders over $75 which is pretty easy to achieve once you start looking at Sugarpill's absolutely amazing colours and wonderful palettes. I picked up the "Sweetheart" 4 color palette, Buttercupcake Pressed Eyeshadow and four Chromalust Loose Eyeshadows in: Magentric, Stella, Goldilux and Royal. I've always been a little scared of experimenting with bolder colours and I figure these colours should be enough to shock me into trying some new looks!

So, the other thing that I love about Sugarpill is the random obsession with cats. When I told the girls at work to expect a package with a giant cat on it, they were like,"Of COURSE, you'd be the one expecting a package with a huge cat on it. Sure". It's a cat holding a pill. It's awesome.

Included was a sparkly sticker

This is the 4-color Sweetheart Palette in ultra cute packaging which includes the colours Dollipop, Afterparty, Midori and Tako:

This is Buttercupcake:

And my favourites, the Chromalust Loose Eyeshadows:

 Holy pigmentation, Batman!

Sugarpill definitely lives up to its reputation! I was in pigmentation heaven when I swatched! I'll admit that these probably aren't everyday colours, but man are they a lot of fun! I think maybe I'll try to sneak in bright colour here and there just to experiment, but I was so impressed with the quality. Did you see the size of the loose eyeshadow jars? 5g is a lot! I will probably be buried with my Chromalust eyeshadows with that amount! Both types of shadows were very soft and applied smoothly. My swatches were without primer, so I'm sure that WITH primer, these colours will pop quite a bit. Buttercupcake was probably the least pigmented out of the bunch, but I'm sure the colour will be fine with primer.

I totally love these eyeshadows and hope that I can create some cool looks with them. The looks other girls have created with these colours is incredible. Can't wait to get into the "lab" with these guys!

Lush - Whoosh Shower Jelly (So Much Fun to Say!)

Hello!

This was my second Lush purchase in Montreal, so again the label is en Francais, but it was my bf's mom who brought this to my attention. I just heard her saying,"Look Jayne! Isn't it cute? It jiggles!" The display had the jelly dumped out of its container and it looked so pretty and blue on the tray that I had to pick one up. Whoosh smells very citrus-like and to me it smells more like lemon, but it supposed to be an essential oil blend of lemon, lime and grapefruit juices with rosemary and geranium.

This guy looks JUST like a guy I used to work and even spells his name the same!

Whoosh smells so refreshing and is such a fun consistency, I'm so glad I picked it up! Sometimes I feel like the shower is my playground ;-) Has anyone else tried this out? In a different scent perhaps?

NOTD - Butter London's "The Black Knight" to My Rescue

Hello!

So, this is a colour I have been drooling over for awhile and finally picked it up from Glymm a few weeks ago. I got "The Black Knight" as part of a holiday trio so there will be two more swatches coming up in the future. This polish is chock full of fine multi-coloured glitter and sits in a black jelly base. My favourite part is the combination of glitter colours that I've never seen anywhere else. There is blue, fuschia and gold and silver(?)

Without flash (grrr I hate reflection!)

It's definitely a fun colour to wear and has a great formula as I only needed 2 coats. As my first Butter nail polish, I am impressed!

Lush Bubble Gum Lip Scrub

Hello!

Today I bring to you another purchase from Montreal which is why the labels are all in French, but there is a Lush in my area so I don't know why I decided to pick this up while over there...I guess I just couldn't resist ;-)

I have two lip scrubs already, but what really got me about the Lush lip scrub was the awesome candy scent! I don't know if I'd would call it "Bubble Gum", but it reminded me of the GOOD cough syrup from childhood! There were also only 4 ingredients inside: sugar, jojoba oil, flavour and aurora pink colouring. Sounds totally harmless! I also really like how they put a little sticker of the person who has prepped the product complete with an "made on" and "best by" date. Very cool. My lip scrub was also overflowing so there was no skimping out at all on product!

Rosie looks like a nice person :-)

Mmmmmm! Looks good enough to eat!
The sugar was very finely granulated making it not rough at all on my lips. It's fine enough that you could probably use it everyday without your lips feeling uncomfortable. I saw results right away as my lips felt very smooth and soft after use so I definitely recommend this product for its results, smell and all natural ingredients!

Birthday Nails for a Friend

 Hello again!

I was going to post these yesterday, but by the I finished, it was super late! I guess that's what happens when you combine, good food with wine and nail fumes! As I had mentioned in my last post, I was pretty nervous about doing nails for someone else, but once we got started, it really wasn't too bad. My friend is fairly easy going though so that definitely helped. Her birthday is this week so she wanted to branch out and try something different on her nails. She normally wears very light pinks and nudes so having even one speck of glitter on her nails means a cause for celebration!

I'm so happy she let me practice and got some pretty, sparkly nails out of it! I apologize for the pictures. I know they aren't great, again due to the wine and nail fumes ;-) It was a fun night and I hope I get a chance to do it again!

Experimental Nails - Glitter, Stripes and Polka Dots

Hello Hello!

I agreed to do a friend's nails for her champagne birthday and I was scared because I've never done someone else's nails before and I am scared of judgment :-( Just because I can do my own nails, doesn't necessarily mean I can do yours! Anyway, I just wanted experiment and try a couple of different ideas on myself beforehand. I should also add that she likes grey and pink so I tried to stick with those colours.
