January Glymm Box

Hello again beauty box lovers!

Today sounds the arrival of my Glymm box as well as an additional item that I purchased using 200 of my Glymm points and the $10 coupon from last month's box...read on to see what it is!

The items I received this month were:

Kaia Naturals - Juicy Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths (full size 30 cloths for $17.99)
Vasanti Cosmetics - BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejeuvenator (full size 120mL for $34.00)
Anastasia - Clear Brow Gel (full size 0.28oz for $21.00)
Burt's Bees - Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion (full size 170g for $12.99)
Cargo Cosmetics - Eye Pencil in Black (full size 2g for $16.00)
Coupon for a free Lip Shine from RMS ($25 value) with any Beauty Boutique purchase

So, I think I've been a wee bit spoiled with yesterday's Topbox...I wasn't as wowed by this month's Glymm box, but I will say that the Topbox was hard to top (no pun intended). I never like saying I don't like a box because I feel that it's such a first world problem. I'm grateful that there's a service that even let's me receive cosmetic samples! Anyway, what I did like about this Glymm box was the variety of products ranging from things for the face to makeup to body lotion. I haven't tried any of these products before so I look forward to a month of experimentation until the next box ;-)

I did try out the brow gel since, but seeing as how my Asian brows are quite sparse, there wasn't really much to tame in terms of "unruly brows". The gel did dry very naturally though and didn't leave a flaky residue on my brows at all. I tested this out on my bf who has thick white man brows and his one eyebrow looked so pretty! Hehe, he's always the guinea pig.

The Cargo eye pencil applied quite nicely, although not quite as smoothly as the Urban Decay eye pencils. It does have some really great staying power though as it didn't budge while washing my hands or with me rubbing the eye liner with my finger so yay for that! This will be great for an 8 hour work day.

I have always been a fan of Burt's Bees products so I look forward to trying out the lotion. It has come to be brand I trust when it comes to having no parabens and using more natural ingredients. The Kaia facial cleansing cloths look like a really great product too as the instructions say to "use the front side of the cloth for the face and the back of the cloth for mascara and lipstick". I don't know if I would use these on a regular basis though, but if you're traveling or on the go, these sound like a great option. The Vasanti face rejeuvenator is essentially a facial exfoliant which I'm probably the least excited about because it sounds like something I already have in multiples...but hey, I've never tried it so if it ends up making a noticeable difference to my skin then that's awesome!

Kaia Naturals Cleansing Cloths - 1 cloth = $0.60
Vasanti Cosmetics Face Rejeuvenator - 12g = $3.40
Anastasia Brow Gel - 0.085oz = $6.38
Burt's Bees Body Lotion - 14mL = $1.07
Cargo Eye Pencil *full size given* = $16.00
Glymm Box Total Value = $27.45

Lots of new things to try that I'm very much looking forward to! Oh, and I almost forgot, this was the additional gift I got with my points! Mmmm! My first Butters! I finally got the Holiday trio that I've been drooling over for months now. These were ordered before my nail polish ban, so I'm glad I got to squeeze these in!

Until next month's Glymm box!

  2. In comparison to your Top Box, I agree this one's a little lacklustre. At least there's that full-size Cargo pencil though! Can't wait to see your Butter swatches :)

  4. I was debating between which boxes to subscribe to. From my research, Glymm seems to be subpar overall compared to topbox (which I am currently waiting to receive, won't get my first box 'til May). I also signed up for glossybox, which just came to Canada. I will get my first glossybox in February! I can't wait!

  5. Dec & Jan Glymm Boxs was not impressed. I have cancelled my subscription with them. LB gave up in Oct. Now I am just with Topbox & signed up for Glossybox.
