What’s in My Julep Cinco de Mayo Mystery Box?

Hi!

As much as I would love to say I loved this mystery box, I unfortunately did not. This month’s mystery box was a bust for me and the lesson I have learned is to not buy these anymore! I really don’t like paying for duplicates and I’ve come to realize that I am a peeker at heart and I don’t like being surprised or titillated!

In my Cinco de Mayo Mystery Box I received:

cincodemayo

Facial for Hands Glycolic Hand Scrub – I received a 30mL version while the full size is 89mL. I have not tried this before and reviews have been fairly positive so I look forward to trying it out.

Julep Crystal Nail File – This is my second one which I will give to my fiance who expressed a suppressed interest in using one…Winking smile

Hayden – “Neon peach”

Gayle – “Regal, deep aubergine. Sophisticated yet playful”

Sienna – “Sophisticated, shimmery gold”

Leah – “Vivid and refreshing grass green with a hint of shimmer”

I already have Leah and I really don’t know about Hayden on my skin tone. I think my favourite colour is Sienna out of the four and is something I would have purchased on my own. Gayle looks like a good colour too, but maybe for when the weather gets a bit more gloomy (which is most of the time in Vancouver!) So, goodbye Julep Mystery Boxes, I will still keep my Julep Maven subscription, but this one is the last one for me!

    1. Getting duplicates or just three polishes is really not that much of a mystery box!

Gayle does look really pretty though! (and at least leah is super fun and summery so maybe you'll get through the first bottle?)

    1. I was pretty bummed out, but I did get to try a new product with the hand scrub so that was still ok.

  6. I am sure your fiance loves you sharing his interest in nail files on your blog, Jayne! LMAO ;) ;)
I am sorry you got duplicates, that sucks. Its almost as if these mystery boxes are better for non-mavens because its true, you're likely to get many repeat products!

    1. LOL, oh he doesn't mind! He's man enough to admit it ;-) I definitely think that if you're not a subscriber, the Mystery Boxes are a great way to get a good selection of colours, but not if you're already subscriber...sigh oh well lesson learned!

  7. I can't believe people were going NUTS for Hayden...I'm a little grossed out by it lol. In anycase, I think your box overall wasn't terrible in terms of a nice mix of colours...not like my Blahhhhh box. ugh! AS for receiving Sienna..I assure you that colour is GORGEOUS!!!!! I was like, oh ok when I got it in my last mystery box..but then I tried it...and the heavens opened up... lol
    I used it here:

    1. Yeah, Hayden definitely seems to be popular, but I wasn't wowed by it at all. I agree Sienna, once I swatched it, looked sooo nice!
