Beauty Box Swap Time!

For those of you that haven’t heard of this concept yet, I have recently gotten into beauty swaps with other beauty lovers from all around the world! Think of it like pen pals when we were kids, but much more exciting although it creates more of a dent in the wallet! My first swap was with Nadine over at Bunny & Spice and this one that I have for you today is from Tarah from the good ol’ USA! When it comes to fantastic makeup prices, the US is like beauty heaven! Just check out all the goodies!

I have to say, beauty swaps are just as exciting as beauty boxes, but maybe even more so because someone else is taking the time to put together a box that suits you with products from possibly a foreign place. I have participated in two swaps and I have three more in the next month from the US (Tarah again!), Israel and the UK. I just love this idea even though you have to be careful not to get caught up with too many swaps because it can get pretty pricey once shipping is included! There is an element of trust in beauty swaps as occasionally there are some bad seeds that say they will send you something, but end up disappearing once you have sent a swap to them…that’s not the norm though and this is a good reason why you should set your swaps at fairly low budgets if you do not know the swap history of someone. At least you won’t be out too much money if it does happen! All in all, I’ve been having a great time shopping for the other girls and letting them know about what beauty products I have been loving.

Would any of you ever consider participating in a beauty box swap?

  1. We must be inthe same FB group because I've seen Tarah and Nadine on there. I haven't yet swapped but I want to send out a swap buddy request soonish. I'm a careful person financially and I wanna pay off a couple things and not need to use my credit card or anything for my swap so I'm letting things get settled first. Just got back to work from mat leave 1 month ago after all.

That's a really cool swap and I'm really looking forward to participating! How much was it to ship to Japan and how much tothe US? Did you ship from Canada or across the border?

    1. We are in the same FB group, I see your posts! I've swapped with Nadine before and she invited me to the group. That's good to pay off other stuff first, I'm a debt-free gal so I take on as many swaps as I can handle. I love my credit card though since I get my points and cash back :)

Japan was around $16 and the US about the same. I think it's too inconvenient to drive 2 hours out of my way to ship out of the States so I ship from here.

    1. It's a lot of fun, but can get crazy expensive so I won't do anymore swaps until the new year.
I update a lot more since I graduated. When you're in school it's tiring to try and do it all and if you look at my posts from 2011, I would blog maybe once a week. I'm just grateful that wonderful gals like you enjoy what I have to say!

Swapping is great, expensive, but really fun especially when it's done internationally.

  5. holy moly, you got so many goodies!! i've only done one swap and i really liked it. i limit the number i do though because, as you say, it adds up. i'm only going to commit to one swap per season. i have one planned for the end of the month but both of my swaps have been within canada. i'd like to branch out and do an international swap one day. thanks for sharing!

    1. One swap per season is a good plan, but for me what happened was I ended up doing one from the US, Japan, UK and Israel. I got curious about the different countries!
If you do an international swap I think Japan would be a fun one just because the packaging is so cute for everything!
