Review-MaskerAide “All Nighter” Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask

Welcome to a long overdue review of the MaskerAide sheet masks! I have been using Asian facial sheet masks since early last year as a blast of moisture for my skin and was looking for a possible Canadian substitute of equal quality.

MaskerAide is a Canadian company that promises the safest formula for all skin types while being eco-friendly too! MaskerAide masks are literally soaking in a highly concentrated argan oil-based serum with vitamins and nutrients and are free of parabens, harsh dyes and pigments, mineral oils, artificial fragrances, benzophenone (possible photosensitizer) and glycerins. There are five other face masks in the Maskeraide family that are broken down into two categories. Detox Diva, Pre Party Prep and All Nighter are lighter, clear serum masks that can be used either in the morning or at night or just before applying makeup. Beauty Rest'ore, I Don't Wanna Grow Up, and Weather Warrior are cream-based masks and are best used for just before bedtime.

I plan to review each of the six masks and give an idea of what each one is like and if the experience is different for each one so let’s begin with “All Nighter”!

Whether you were up all night studying or out all night partying, we’ve got you covered to face the long day ahead. Apply our ALL NIGHTER mask to awaken, refresh and replenish your skin. The cooling effects of the mask will help de-puff and awaken your eyes, while natural Peppermint Oil awakens your senses. Aloe, Argan Oil, Heartleaf (a powerful detoxifier), Honey, Super Fruit and Cactus Extracts work together to erase the signs of the previous night and get you “boardroom” ready!

Price: $4.99/mask or $19.00/4 masks (from Topbox)

Packaging: The mask is biodegradable and the outer packaging is recyclable! Sometimes I wish the girl on the front of the package wasn’t quite so bug-eyed, but other than that, these masks are individually packaged and are great for travel as well.

Formula: When you first take these masks out of their packaging, they are folded neatly and just dripping with serum, so unfolding them with a light touch is necessary since you want to keep as much serum on the mask as possible. These masks are almost plush in feel and don’t feel thin like paper. Remember not to waste one bit of precious serum and rub any excess on your chest and neck!

I love the scent and tingle of peppermint, but when it comes to the face, you don’t want that tingle to evolve into a burn! Fortunately, this was not the case with “All Nighter”. The peppermint oil was a good ol’ kick in the pants and felt so refreshing on my face. I leave these masks on for as long as possible, usually more like 30 minutes and my skin with “All Nighter” felt hydrated and almost tighter. Like my skin bounced back more quickly when I touched it. It was a subtle change, but the hydration aspect was very noticeable.

Final Verdict: I have to admit, that these masks are a pure treat after a long day at work and I try to just use one per week as they are quite expensive. Mentally, I just feel 10x better after using one and physically my skin rejoices from the extra deep tissue blast of moisture. I recommend this mask like I recommend getting pedicures. It certainly has its benefits, but I love it because it feels like total luxury for my skin and helps me to relax. I can’t use it all the time, but I save it for special occasions or days that are particularly trying. This is a fantastic gift for someone though because it’s often one of those things you wouldn’t get for yourself (unless you’re me!).

  1. Ooh! I have a couple of these in my sample collection. I will have to try it out! I'm always nervous to try masks out because I'm worried how my skin will react to it -- but this would be wonderful for a little at-home spa night :) x

    1. What's nice is that all of the masks are super gentle and anyone can use them because the ingredients are so soothing. I can see why you would be nervous though because it's something you put on your entire face!

  2. Ooooh this looks good! I'm obsessed with those Asian sheet masks so it's nice to see a Canadian version. Where can you buy these ones in Vancouver?

    1. Abolute Spa in Park Royal Mall, Century Plaza Hotel and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Beauty Mark and Mika on Horby Street. These are just as good as the Asian ones which was a VERY nice surprise!

  3. I loved this mask! I was skeptical at first but it left my skin with a nice glow. I hope Topbox has another store promotion sometime because I'd love to buy more, but $5 a mask is pretty expensive.

    1. It really is expensive so I went crazy with the Topbox Boxing Day sale and I think I have like 30 masks in my stash!
