February Luvs

I feel like I’ve been in a rut when it comes to favourites. I feel like I’m just wanting to stick with products that are comfortable and safe…with the exception of Maybelline’s Colorsensational Vivids! If it weren’t for those Vivids, I really would be a plain Jayne and you guys wouldn’t want to be friends with me anymore!

Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Cell Vitality 3 in 1 Eye Treatment

I received this in my Winter Luxe Box and although I don’t notice any real difference in my undereyes when using this, what has made this one of my favourite products to use this past month is, forgive me for sounding dirty, the fact that it has not one, but three roller balls! It just feels 3x as nice to use and gives me a temporary feeling of relief when I use it on my tired eyes in the morning. Below is a close-up of what makes me love this product.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Lemon

I won this from Beauty Crazed’s October Giveaway and was very excited to use it when I saw it. I can’t believe I have waited so long to try it out, but it is fantastic! Not only does it smell like lemony goodness, but it provides such moisturizing coverage that my lips feel comforted right away. This lip balm contains shea butter, vitamin E and avocado oil to soften lips and lemon and chamomile to refresh and calm. I have been using the eos lip balms, but for the last two months, I felt like my lips needed a thicker almost sealant level of moisture to give them the relief they needed and this has been the product to do it!

Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution for Sensitive Skin

I picked this up in a mini Shoppers shopping spree in May of last year and just opened up the bottle and wow am I glad I did! This removes my face and eye makeup without stinging my eyes (take a hint people at Simple!) and yet it is so incredible gentle. There is no scent and leaves my skin feeling fresh.

Pandora’s Makeup Box Blush in Passionfruit

I picked this up a little while back from the Pandora website and is a lovely shimmery, coral coloured blush that has made me happy these last dreary, rainy Vancouver months. It’s just a beautifully soft colour that I’d recommend to anyone! Below is a swatch of Passionfruit.

Biotherm Beurre Corporal (Body Butter)

Smells like freshly squeezed oranges. Enough said. I kid, this is a thicker moisturizer for dry to very dry skin and is perfect for the winter season. There is a pump version of this moisturizer that is lighter and is one that I will switch to once the warmer months approach.

Maybelline Colorsensational in Magnificent Mauve 430

This is a great everyday shade and might not look good on everyone, but I was looking for a purple-toned lipstick that had less coverage than the Vivids, but more than a lip tint. Magnificent Mauve applies smoothly and was exactly what I was looking for.

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Vivid Rose 875

I reviewed this earlier last month so I won’t go into too much more detail about how wonderful these Vivids are! Vivid Rose is the colour I have been wearing the most as it is one that I can still get away with in a business environment.

Clinique Lipstick in Blushing Nude

I was first introduced to this colour when I was 14 years old in a bonus gift that my aunt gave to me. Fifteen years later, I still love this colour. I received this particular tube in a gift with purchase, but have purchased two tubes in my lifetime. It’s a safe and comforting colour and one that I wear when I don’t know what to wear on my lips or have very intense eye makeup.

Stila Lip Glaze in Grapefruit

Another great neutral colour that gives lips a healthy glow with hint of pink. I don’t find this gloss overly sticky, which also means reapplication is imminent.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition

I haven’t been wanting to use black eyeliner lately so since this is a very dark brown, it has been a happy compromise. 24/7 pencils have been part of my makeup repertoire for years and the quality and ease of use makes these eye pencils highly recommended.

Cupcakes and Cashmere by Emily Schuman

If you love Emily’s blog, you will love the book! It’s a great coffee table book with some great tips on beauty, decorating and of course fashion. I’ve actually been reading this before I go to bed to quiet my mind as life can give your mind a buzz that sometimes refuses to be silenced!

Until next month!

  1. Ha, that's funny that you mentioned that the Color Sensational Vivid lipstick keeps you from being a "plain Jayne"! My name is Jane too (different spelling, but oh well) and I can't stand when people joke about me being a plain Jane, so I will have to invest in those lipsticks too! ;)

I also wish to try the Bioderma because makeup remover always irritates my eyes too! Thanks for posting your favorites, they all seem great!

    1. I can't stand it either! It's such a mean thing to say! I know it rhymes and all, but come on!

The Bioderma stuff has been really great for me and I didn't think I would find it all that amazing because let's face it, at this point we've all tried QUITE a number of different things, but it just goes to show you that there are always new things to discover.

  3. The Pandora blush is such a pretty shade. I got the Bioderma Sensibio a while ago and got to use this consistently lately. Really enjoying that. Will definitely repurchase that when mine runs out.

    1. Pandora has some beautiful products of fantastic quality so I hope to slowly add more of their stuff to my collection. And it's always nice to support Canadian companies :)

I just got two of the full size bottles of Bioderma because they were on sale at SDM for $17.49 so I'm set for about a year!

    1. I totally agree. It's dark enough to be seen, but not quite as intense as wearing black.

    1. They may not be everyday, but especially with Spring coming up they are a lot of fun to wear.
