Now that Halloween is over, we can safely say “Christmas is coming” and start getting into holiday mode. I often try to resist until the end of November, but when all of your senses are bombarded with Christmas cheer, you can’t help but get into the spirit whether you want to or not! Part of the holidays involves having more fun with your makeup looks as well and wearing bolder, brighter colours that are almost a must from now until the end of the year!
Today I have another fun product from BA*STAR (see my other review here) that will give you the perfect holiday lip. If you're looking for eye shadows, blushes or mascaras to complete your look, have a look at the rest of the site as I’m sure you will able to find something to make your makeup truly sparkle! I received the BA*STAR Lip Pencil in the colour Holiday Red and when I first saw it, I thought it looked a little too dark to very festive, but once I realized how wrong I was when I swatched it!
Price: 0.088oz/$8.75 USD
Packaging: Sleek jumbo wooden lip pencil with plastic cap on top. Requires jumbo sharpener.
Formula: Very smooth and creamy and leans more towards the feel of a lipstick. I was quite impressed as the quality rivals some expensive names! The lasting power was quite good and even after I took off the colour with makeup remover, there was a little bit of a stain left behind on my lips. The formula was not drying at all and I feel like this colour would look beautiful with a clear shimmery gloss on top.
Final Verdict: For the price, I was very impressed with how the colour applied as there have been some higher end lip pencils that I have tried that have been equivalent in their quality, but three times the price! There are three other colours that look absolutely gorgeous! As I have mentioned in my previous review, the cost of shipping for Canadians is pretty crazy, but if you live in the US, shipping is free on all orders of $55 or more!
