Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd and for the first time this year, I’m going to celebrate by showcasing some of my favourite eco-friendly beauty products! “Eco” has varying levels of meaning to everyone, but I do my best to treat our planet and my body well and while that might not mean swearing off every paraben in pretty packaging, I do try to opt for the “healthier” product version whenever I can. To kick off the Earth Day Countdown, I have a brand new nail polish company to share with you that just launched last month – Trust Fund Beauty!
Based in Montreal, Quebec, Trust Fund Beauty nail polishes are 5-free meaning free of: formaldehyde, camphor, dibutyl phthalate, toluene and formaldehyde resin and have some very tongue-in-cheek names for their polishes including such favourites as “Do You Know Who My Father Is?”, “Nip Slip” and “Virgin?”
This is “Rehab &Repeat” (17mL/$15) and is a forest green polish with hints of silver shimmer throughout. I am wear two coats with top coat although the final finish was quite shiny on is own. The formula was absolutely beautiful and was a delight to work with.
Seeing as how I cannot leave a swatch alone, I added some very large nail art studs from the Born Pretty Store that were actually quite hard to work into any nail art! These tear drop cabochon studs are large enough to be really pretty earrings and stayed on my nails quite solidly due to their large surface area underneath.
I then added some trusty gold studs, also from Born Pretty, to finish off the look. I am the first to admit that this isn’t your run of the mill manicure, but it feels nice to do something a little different!
Trust Fund Beauty polishes are a winner in my books and the fact that this company is 5-free and Canadian is pretty freakin’ awesome. There are free samples with every order this week and even a monthly box subscription!
BOGO ALERT! For THREE DAYS ONLY use promo code: JAYNETFB over at Trust Fund Beauty to buy one and receive one full sized bottle of polish free!
