I am extremely particular about my deodorants as I am very selective about how they smell. While I may love sweet scents in my moisturizers and perfumes, I absolutely despise them in deodorants! I always feel an incredible aversion towards the end of every stick and because of that started using crystal or salt sticks which have no fragrance. I also prefer not to use antiperspirant as I feel like as human beings, we are meant to perspire (even if it can be incredibly inconvenient or just downright embarrassing!)
I have been using Kiss my Face Liquid Rock Roll-On in Lavender ($5.99) for the past month straight and have been enjoying both its odour-absorbing abilities as its all-natural ingredients that have kept me scentless all working day!
Ingredients: Aqua, Potassium Alum, Polysorbate 20, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Lavendula, Angustifolia (Lavender Oil/Huile de lavande), Salix Alba (Willow Bark Extract/Extrait d'ecorse de saule), Usnea Barbata (Lichen Extract/Extrait de lichen),Sodium Phytate, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate
There is no aluminum chlorohydrate, propylene glycol, parabens or any artificial fragrance. The lavender scent is so incredibly faint that I actually smell more more of the willow bark. The scent disappears upon application.
The applicator is a roll-on which means that this deodorant goes on wet so it does feel a little bit funny at first if you are not used to it (ahem, me). I usually wait about 20-30 seconds before wearing clothes.
Final verdict: Although I found the rollerball smaller than the conventional wide rectangle or larger circle of a roll-on, I did find it to be effective at keeping my underarms odour-free for an 8 hour work day. My days can be somewhat stressful and just a blur at times so keeping “stress sweat’ manageable is important to me. I like that this deodorant does not seek to cover up a scent, but almost neutralizes it so that I am just scentless at the end of the day. I love that I am putting nothing harmful on my body and even for those of us that perspire quite a bit, this deodorant is clinically proven to have all day protection which is impressive. If you do not care for a scent to your deodorant and would prefer a more natural option, definitely check this out as it does come in other scents as well as the rectangular stick option.
