I have a thing for chubby lip crayons and combine that love with the words “limited edition” and I get VERY excited. Just released this month and a limited time, Soap & Glory has added the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayons ($16.00) to their already stellar product line-up. These collagen-boosting gloss crayons come in three lip-enhancing shades: Nudist, Plum Jam and Fuchsia-Ristic.
You can see from the swatches that these shades are fairly sheer and are actually more like a tinted lip balm than the more pigmented gloss crayons we have seen lately on the beauty market. These mother puckers (I just really wanted to say that and sound like a badass) apply extremely smoothly and feel very comfortable to wear.
Fuchsia-Ristic is a comfortable, casual happy pink that I would wear on a day where I just wanted my lips to look just a *hint* of perky.
Plum Jam turned out to be my favourite out of the three as it ended up looking slightly more pigmented on my lips and gave them a little more drama.
Nudist is very natural and well, nude. It almost looks like I’m not wearing anything which is fine sometimes, but I felt like the colour really washed me out even with a couple of swipes of crayon.
Final Verdict: Although these gloss crayons weren’t quite as pigmented as I was expecting, I did come away with Plum Jam as a favourite. Wear time is not long on these, sitting at around 3 hours for me before needing a touch up, although they did feel fairly hydrating on my lips. At $16, I know these aren’t the most inexpensive gloss crayons and with the advent of big drugstore brands dominating the chubby crayon market for about half the price, it’s hard for me to say that these are a necessary addition to your lip crayon family. What I WILL say is that if you are looking for a tinted lip balm, that feels oh-so-smooth going on , gives them a glossy shine and makes them look plumped and perfect then I would definitely recommend the Sexy Mother Puckers. You also get to own something that let’s you say “Sexy Mother Pucker” and not many products let you do that!
