Topbox | March 2014

March’s edition of Topbox was alright, maybe not the most exciting as past ones due to some familiar faces, but it’s not that the faces were bad. I think I just have so much that it’s hard to find something I haven’t tried before so I’m going to try to be more objective in these unboxings and try to be more like the Jayne of 2011 when beauty boxes were only just in their infancy.

Clinique | Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

DSC_0685

Transparent pigment merges with unique, natural tone of your lips to create something wonderful and yours alone. Sheer, glossy. Emollient rich and very lightweight.

Thoughts: I know that this is often featured in some of the Clinique GWPs, but it is actually q really great product. This may look scary and dark in the tube, but it is actually a sheer gloss that just makes your lips look THAT MUCH better.

Full size: 1.9g/$19.00

I received: I have no idea and it doesn’t seem to say on the bottom of the tube.

Belveda Cosmetics | Blackhead Facial Mask

DSC_0686

Apply the mask to face. Wait 20-30 minutes and peel-off.

Thoughts: I do like my face masks and this one is a peel-off mask for blackheads! The mask is composed of some “good for face” sounding ingredients such as bamboo charcoal, grapefruit, vitamin B5 and vitamins A and E. There are two packets provided, but just based on past experience there will probably be enough for four applications total. The only weird thing is that I cannot find this product on their website…

Full size: No price given…

I received: 8mL/1 packet X 2

Lashem | Picture Perfect Instant Wrinkle Reducer

DSC_0687

Dab a thin layer on the area around your eyes and face after your cleansing routine. Must be completely dry before applying makeup or other face creams. Use consistently for long-term effects. Can also be used either night or day.

Thoughts: I received the Lashem Topbox last year and still have not gotten around to using the mascara, which reminds me, I REALLY need to start using it! I was not aware that Lashem made skincare-related products as well, but I guess once you start with lashes, the skin AROUND your lashes isn’t too far off. I just really like the packaging of this product!

Full size: 15mL/$40.00

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Benefit Cosmetics | BADgal Lash Mascara

DSC_0688

Sexy, dramatic, pure unadulterated black mascara for full, voluminous lashes. Famously big brush coats lashes with our thick black formula. It’s as BAD as you want to be!

Thoughts: I know we have all seen this in a variety of beauty boxes, advent calendars and GWPs, but it is a good mascara and who can say no to Benefit? I can’t get enough of their minis! Although, we DID receive one of these in the February Topbox and this is the March one…did I get leftovers?

Full size: 8.5g/$26.00

I received: 4.0g/$12.24

Total Value of March Topbox: at least $52.24

The Lashem product pretty much paid for the whole box as it retails for $40 alone and even without knowing the full value of the Clinique product, we’re still sitting at more than $12. I actually like products like the Lashem wrinkle reducer and although I’m not the age to have a significant number of wrinkles, I like the idea of tightening things up if it works!
