It feels a little silly to be writing theme of a beauty box involving the sun, but since I was pretty much comatose last weekend with a fever, take yourselves back to the beginning of July when summer was just getting started. I was working like crazy at a new job at the time that consumed every bit of energy I had so now that I’ve found something new I’m sure you have all noticed that I have been blogging quite a bit more over the last 2 months. Hopefully you all enjoy seeing more of me because I missed the interaction with all of you!
Nouveau/Organica | Cream Colour in Compassion
This sample is about the size of a quarter so it’s a little bit more comfortable to use as a lip colour, but it does make a beautiful cream blush as well. I’m not a fan of this type of sample, but I understand that not all companies can afford to give out full sizes of their product.
Emani Vegan Cosmetics| Hydrating Lip Color in Temptress
I actually recognize this brand! I have recently started seeing Emani at London Drugs so a full sized lipstick in this gorgeous colour is super exciting to see! The consistency is smooth and glides very nicely across the lips so I look forward to testing its promises of longevity.
I thought this Ellovi body butter was a lip balm at first because the sample is fairly small and a little finicky to get into as a body butter. It’s on the greasier side and leaves a bit of a shine to the skin. There are only 6 ingredients in this: macadamia nut oil, coconut oil, hemp oil, shea butter, marula oil and non GMO starch so this body butter is VERY raw and what you see is what you get!
Just the Goods| Hand and Body Lotion in Peppermint and Unscented
This is a company from Winnipeg, Manitoba so I am definitely pleased to see a Canadian company featured in July’s Vegan Box, but I don’t really like 7mL samples in clam shells like this (they are $0.50 on the website)…7mL is literally one use and maybe that’s enough to know whether you would use something again, but I like at least a week’s worth of body lotion in a sample. Again, this is a smaller company so I understand trying to keep costs low.
Original Sprout|Hair and Body Babywash
Talk about a hair and body wash with nothing to worry about. It says on the back that this is soy, gluten, honey, peanut and dairy-free. WOW. I didn’t even know you could really PUT those items in a body wash!
Savvy Boheme|Bath and Body Oil in Tall Americano
This is a body oil that is made of COFFEE-INFUSED olive oil. It smells DIVINE. OMG. So amazing! I never thought of a body oil that could smell like coffee. It’s usually fruity scents so this is a huge change. It’s awesome and can be used all over the face and body.
The body oil and lipstick definitely saved this Vegan Cuts box for me because little sample sizes are NOT what I pay for. This isn’t 2011 when beauty box sampling was just starting out! Especially since I pay $30 for this box, I’m pretty sure this box is either just under that or right at $30.
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is $19.95 USD + $8 for Canadian shipping.
