Guest Post | Natalie from Ivory Avenue Shows Us How Cool Blue Eyebrows Can Be!

It’s CBB Guest Post time again so let’s welcome Natalie to Cosmetic Proof today!

Hey cuties! My name is Natalie, and I blog over on Ivory Avenue. I'm taking over Cosmetic Proof today as part of the CBB monthly guest posting!

The theme of the month for November is blue and silver for winter, and I immediately started freaking out. I could do some nail polish, but nothing too exciting since I am terrible at nail art of any sort. So I started thinking about makeup. I could do a blue and silver eyeshadow look for sure, but I decided to take it a step further. Why not just colour my whole face?

I was thinking something along the lines of The Capitol meets Blue Vanessa. Simple enough, right? Well, yes. Except I had to scrub my face for a long time afterwards...

I thought about what I would colour blue or silver:

My eyes? Obviously.

My lips? Sure, why not.

My eyebrows? Well, ever since a Twitter chat where we talked about coloured eyebrows (shout out to Jenn who totally pulled off coloured eyebrows) I've wanted to try it, so sure, why not.

My cheeks? Well, why not go all in!

Obviously you can use whatever blue and silver shades you have around, though I will still share the products I used - shared in the order I applied them.

First, I started with blush. I used the shadow side of the Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash in Crystal Cobalt. This dual-ended shadow/liner thingys are super new and limited edition, available starting this month. The Happy Sloths has already reviewed them, so pop on over there to see what I'm talking about. Let me tell you - cream eyeshadows don't blend nearly as well as cream blushes... I really had to blend quickly and jab at my face for quite awhile. I decided I should also highlight my face, so I applied the lightest blue shade from the wet n wild Color Icon 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in I'm His Breezey. I applied it above my cheeks, across my forehead and down my nose. Though you can't really see it, I think it did help make me look more... well, blue...

I then moved to my eyebrows. I hardly do my eyebrows on a regular basis, so colouring them in was definitely an adventure. I started by applying lip balm to my eyebrows (yes, lip balm. I had limited resources) followed by the second darkest blue shade in the wet n wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection in Poster Child. It's a pretty classic blue, not too light, not too dark. After applying blue eyeshadow to my eyebrows with an eyeliner brush (I'm telling you, limited resources), I applied more lip balm to "set" my brows. I dabbed on a tiny bit more blue to try to make it as even as possible, but looking at the pictures it's clear I didn't do the best job in the world. Though it doesn't really matter, I used an Epic Blend lip balm. After having done my brows, I decided to add a bit of the same blue shade to my cheeks to try to unify my face.

Now, the eyes. I thought I should start adding some silver to my look (since, y'know, the theme is blue AND silver) so I started by applying a silver shade all over my lid. I used the silver shade from the wet n wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Spoiled Brat. I am so in love with this silver shade... It's actually flawless. In the creases, I dabbed a bit of the bright blue shade from the wet n wild Color Icon 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in I'm His Breezey. I cannot believe how much I liked the combination of these two shades together. I decided to add winged liner as well, and I used the Lush Liquid Eyeliner in Motivation. This eyeliner is the balm, yo. It's super pretty and pigmented and I love it.

After applying mascara (I used the Revlon Lash Potion Mascara, by the way), I decided I wasn't done. I opted to add a little something something more to my eyes. So, I used the liner side of the Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash thing that I mentioned before. The other end is a blue glitter eyeliner - perfect! I applied the glitter eyeliner along my lower lashline, and also added glitter to my lashes because why the heck not.

On my lips, I again opted for silver since I didn't think I had enough silver in the look. I applied the same lip balm to my lips, followed by dabbing eyeshadow on top. I used a pale silver/blue shade from the Crown Brush 35 Neutral Color Smokey Eye Palette (it's on Amazon, if you want to see what I'm talking about - I used the top right shade). It looked a lot more silver on my lips than I expected, and that was ok! In retrospect though, I think I maybe should've used a darker shade to help even out my face since it ended up being a little top heavy.

And that's it! I have to say, I really liked having blue eyebrows. Would you ever do this sort of look and actually leave the house? I'll be honest, I did not leave the house. I couldn't do it!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this, and I hope you'll come visit!

Thank you Natalie for an AMAZING post! Definitely something unprecedented on the blog!
