BEAUTY BOX | June Glossybox Review

Welcome to the new Cosmetic Proof where I play beauty box catch up just like last year. I was so proud for doing all that writing last week so that you guys could come here to a new post every day, but then work and late nights caught up with me and we’re back to this unscheduled and impromptu way of doing things. Now, onto June’s Glossybox* which featured some brands that I know and love and some that I had never heard of, but that is sort of the fun with these boxes isn’t it? Discovering new product loves!

July Glossybox Review

Hey Honey | I Peel Good! Biomimetic Creamy Honey Peel Cream

Hey Honey I Peel Good
Thoughts: I first heard of this brand via Michelle Phan and have received the Exfoliating Peel Off Mask with Ipsy, but have yet to try it. I just tried this very mask on my hands so I could describe my initial sensorial experience and OMG. As you massage with your fingers, this becomes more like an oil and the phrase “biomimetic” really starts to have meaning. All it means is “body mimicking” as the ingredients are those our bodies recognize like honey, soybean oil and pineapple juice. I cannot wait to put this on my face! My right hand is so soft after rinsing this off!

Full size: $59.00/30mL

I received: $29.50/15mL

Cargo  | Water Resistant Blush in Coronada

Cargo Cosmetics Water Resistant Blush in Coronado

Thoughts: I love Cargo and really should feature them more on this blog because there are some crazy good products in their assortment! This blush actually looks much better on as it is very slightly shimmery and gives my skin the perfect hint of coral colour (I know it looks more brown in the pan). This is a blush that is sweat and weather proof that is made with silicone-coated pigments that allow better adherence to the skin. Who knew?

Full size: $26.00/0.31oz

I received: $11.74/$0.14oz

Kueshi | Anticellulite Booster

Kueshi Anticellulite Booster

Thoughts: This is a new brand to me. Yes, I do have some cellulite, but I have never been sold on creams that supposedly help with it. I think to some degree, you are stuck with it. This does smell quite good and the ingredients look healthy enough that at the worst, this will end up being a glorified moisturizer.

Full size: $22.60/150mL

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Face Stockholm | Lipliner in Yvonne

Face Stockholm Lipliner in Yvonne

Thoughts: I feel like lipliner gets given away a lot in beauty boxes. Kind of like mascara. This colour is a touch too brown for what I personally wear, but it did glide quite smoothly across the skin. Unfortunately, this will be donated since I just won’t use it.

Full size: $17.00/0.07 oz

I received: $9.71/0.04 oz

Naked Lips | Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint

Thoughts: Peppermint lip balm is the ONLY thing I apply on my lips when I’m chilling at home. I actually might have an unhealthy addiction to it. I am also very picky about how strong the peppermint scent is and I can safely say that this Naked Lips organic lip balm has the perfect peppermint scent. Slightly tingly and is made with sunflower oil, beeswax, coconut oil and calendula. So, while this an organic product it is not vegan.

Full size: $5.50/4.5g

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Total value of June’s Glossybox: $79.05

Final Verdict: I don’t know if I would have been too happy with this box if I didn’t know the brands. I know how much Cargo is worth and the Hey Honey product was really interesting to me because I’m at a point in my life where peels are super cool instead of super scary. If this were 5 years ago maybe not and with the anticellulite cream being somewhat foreign to me this Glossybox may be lost on a younger recipient especially for $21.
