Lip glosses were the first makeup item I was comfortable wearing in high school. It’s easy, shiny and foolproof to apply. Though I’m sure I have every shade imaginable, there is nothing like finding a gloss with just the right consistency and colour. Released for the summer season, but as a permanent addition to the Mary Kay at Play Jelly Lip Gloss family are the shades Jammin’ Berry* and Glow With It* ($12.00 CDN) with their characteristic jelly-like feel with an ultra smooth, non-sticky glide across the lips.
Both shades are glittery and while I do love glitter, one unfortunate consequence is when the gloss fades and the glittery bits are left behind leaving a glittery patchwork. Fortunately, I did not experience this with either colour even though I was really expecting it with Glow With It.

Final verdict: As for the formulation, the finish is slightly sticky so the wear-time is a decent 3-4 hours, but forget eating and expecting these to last on your lips. Though only Jammin’ Berry speaks to me of the two, there are three other shades that range from nude to coral. It is very possible that most of you already have a product like this, but if you are wanting to add some natural-looking colour to your lips the Mary Kay at Play jellies are shiny yet subtle and great for both a casual day or fancy night out!
