In June I was fortunate enough to get my tan on the SAFE way through PRIMP as well as discover the awesomeness that is Paula’s Choice skincare. I gave a sparkling review (here) as I was truly and visibly impressed by the honesty and price point of the products and philosophy behind the brand. As a beauty blogger/skincare junkie, I don’t often finish skincare products as after 4 weeks it’s always time to try something new, but out of the four products I received from Paula’s Choice in June two managed to make it to the end because they were just THAT good.
The Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel* (100mL/$26.00 USD) is truly a Godsend. It may sound harsh at 8%, but if your skin can handle it, do it. As long as you pair the twice daily usage of this gel with a sunscreen of SPF 25 or higher. This has kept my skin so even and clear that I want to always use it under any new skincare I’m using. I am reviewing skincare that does not have an exfoliant so this has been an effective, yet non-irritating way of making sure cell turnover is at its best!
The Sun 365 Self-Tanning Concentrate* (15mL/$18.00 USD) was EASY to blow through during the summer once I started using it on my pasty pale legs. I went from a job where I was outside and traveling a lot to a job that was mostly indoors, so getting some natural colour via Mr. Sunshine was no longer an option. I am actually quite impressed that 15mL lasted as long as it did and though the colour I gained from using this wasn’t dramatic, it was subtle enough that I felt less self-conscious wearing shorts or dresses.
