MAKEUP LOOK | Too Faced Le Grande Palais Review & Swatches

One of the things I dread the most about January is that although it is incredibly fun to see what people got for Christmas, it's possible you may have to wait until the next holiday season to score the same items! Luckily, the Too Faced Le Grande Palais* ($72.00 CDN) is still very much in stock at Sephora and is an incredible value with the palette containing: 18 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, a bronzer, a highlighter, a deluxe Better Than Sex mascara, a deluxe Melted Lipstick in Melted Peony, and a deluxe Shadow Insurance.

Trying to figure out WHAT makeup look to do with this palette was like trying to choose my favourite nail polish. There was no right answer though some eyeshadows definitely had better colour payoff than others. I ended up focusing on the shade duochrome-like shade
Party Dress, a glittery fuchsia, and building a look around it with this Youtube tutorial.

The dollhouse packaging is TOO CUTE. Pun fully intended!

Delightful and Moon on their Wings applied patchily and felt crumbly most likely due to their high glitter content. The matte shades were wonderful in application with the liner shade Stiletto being incredibly pigmented! Eiffel, Midnight in Paris and Champs Elysees felt gritty, but the pigmentation was quite good all on its own! Satin Sheets was one of my favourite shades with its iridescent rose gold shimmer that had me wanting to apply it wherever I could! Eyes, face everywhere!

(Swatches are row by row as they correspond to the palette)

Shall we move on to the look?

Final verdict: As someone who is fairly new to Too Faced, all I really had were the Melted lipsticks so having all of these eyeshadows to experience, for a fairly reasonable price, gave me a good idea of what Too Faced face makeup quality would be like. Though some eyeshadows performed better than others, I really loved the range of shades that were offered in this palette especially the super sparkly party shades! The blushes and bronzers were heaven and I have a found a new blush favourite with Skyline! I may just have to depot it!
