MAKEUP LOOK | Everyday Smoky Eyes ft. Rodial (Plus Some New Products!)

In what feels like eons ago, the British company Rodial was all about skincare. I used to pine for their products while reading British blogs like I would pine for Barry M nail polishes. Then Shoppers and Murale started carrying it and the purchasing began! While I am a fan of Rodial's skincare, especially their Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask, I was quite excited when they launched actual makeup (I consider tinted lip balms to be right on the cusp of makeup and skincare).

Along with some not quite so new favourites, I have found some new product loves with Rodial's newest makeup releases including the Airbrush Make-Up Heavy Duty Foundation Paste and Blusher Colour Pop Powder.

The Airbrush Makeup Heavy Duty Foundation Paste* is indeed heavy duty! In fact, I was pretty surprised when I opened up the jar because this stuff is thick and very high coverage. Even though this level of coverage isn't something I normally wear, my skin looked absolutely FLAWLESS in photos and there were times when I would look in the mirror and do a double take at how perfect my skin appeared!

What is really great about this foundation is how versatile it is in terms of buildability. As is, it feels almost like a cream concealer, but for a more fluid and radiant texture add two drops of a facial oil like the Rodial Snake Booster Oil. This combination worked a lot better for my skin type and how I normally wear foundation. Another tip that I read from the Rodial website was to add the Instaglam Airbrush Primer for a matte, long-lasting finish. This I have yet to try.

The Blusher Colour Pop Powder in Copacabana* is now my new favourite blush for spring! A bright, coral peach, the pigmentation was superb and still incredibly natural- looking. Though this blush isn't the softest, colour payoff was awesome!

The packaging for this blush is fairly substantial with the Rodial "R" surrounded by what looks like black leather and mirror inside.

Though the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL* is not a new release and is one the more touted products in Rodial's makeup lineup, I had my ups and downs with this mascara. What I really liked was just how BLACK this mascara was in addition to the lift it gave my lashes. Where this mascara failed for me was in adding length and fullness to my lashes. If you don't have short, thin lashes like me I think you will definitely enjoy this mascara because the formula is not too wet, not too dry, but "Goldilocks style" juuust right!

The XXL Lip Liner in Pink Espresso* is neutral rosewood pink that contains a plumping complex for extra plump lips thanks to hyaluronic acid. I don't normally think any lip liners or lipsticks can plump anything, but even with just a slight over-lining of my lips they did look bigger than usual!

The Smokey Eye Pen in Brown* is a super soft, but long-lasting eyeliner that can be smudged out into an eyeshadow. It is pretty sticky so you need to work fast before it sets!

Putting it all together, I have a super simple and fast look I promise you, will take no time at all!

Final verdict:
The only product that I probably would say nay to is the lip liner as I didn't really find it all that different in performance from other liners I have. The foundation, had a bit of a learning curve, but is one that I eventually started to like because look at my skin! It looks Nikki Tutorials perfect! The blush, I absolutely love, and the smokey eye pen kept my eyes smokey all day without even having to use eye primer! All in all, a solid makeup collection from Rodial!
