Two weeks behind, but back at it with the BCD Nail Art Challenge! The theme for Week 10 was "Money"and though I was convinced I had this in the bag before I left for Toronto last week, the original design I had in mind is going to require a bit more time so I will have to save it for later. I hadn't meant to take the theme quite so literally, but I can honestly say that gluing coins to my nails had never occurred to me until this challenge!
I have actually done money-related nail art with my piggy bank "saving money" nails (here) that would have been incredibly appropriate, but by golly I couldn't repeat it! So, I just thought I would have a sense of humor and do THIS.
My base colour is Ceramic Glaze - Watermelon Cooler* which has got to be one of the worst nail polish formulations I have used in awhile. This is a neon and dries matte, but applied patchy and uneven. I could not go over the same area twice because the polish would move and leave a bare patch. Once I put top coat on, the manicure looked decent enough, but I find the actual act of painting therapeutic and when that isn't the case it makes me a little crazy.
