MAKEUP LOOK | The "Walking Dead" with Make Up For Ever #GlamToGhoul

I have a whole new level of appreciation for those of you who do special FX makeup. I don't think I have ever done "scary" Halloween makeup and though this "Walking Dead" look isn't as scary as a zipper face or severed head, I didn't warn my husband what I was up to when he came home from work. In fact, I sat with him and ate dinner with this on my face because I was STARVING by the time he got home. He pretty much got to see a live zombie feasting on a lamb donair.

Since I am a complete newbie when it comes to "fierce" makeup looks, I was terrified of attempting this, but I followed the MAKE UP FOR EVER tutorial on the Sephora website and crossed my fingers that I would look a little glam and not go too far over the edge with the ghoul!

I haven't had a chance to review the new MUFE Aqua XL pencils from a few months ago, but using them for this look has given me a reason to do so! I was so impressed with how versatile these were for drawing veins on my face! This tutorial made me look at makeup in a whole new way - not as "blushes" or "eyeliners", but as almost atomic units of pigments and textures. It was incredibly liberating for a first attempt and after I was done, I felt like I was on some sort of makeup high. It was AMAZING.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Halloween Zombie Makeup Look

Now that Sephora online is carrying the MUFE Special Effects products, I am tempted to get some blood, nicotine effect tooth enamel and a host of other scary sounding things that I could never incorporate into my daily makeup looks, but sound SO COOL. Thank you MUFE for making me want Halloween all year long!

What are you being for Halloween this year? Do you celebrate?
