MAKEUP LOOK | Mary Kay Limited Edition Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes in Maui Gardens, Paris Starlight and Moroccan Dunes

You can totally tell by my hair colour that I have been taking my own sweet time with posting these makeup looks! Granted, I plan on going through a few more hair colours before I hit blonde again! My hair is pretty green/blue right now and it is surprisingly hard to maintain. I think I liked my hair in these photos more because it was a little easier to match with things. Right now, I find myself clashing with my own clothing!

While I was purple and blue, I was totally digging the the more dramatic eyeshadow shades and while there are indeed three Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eyeshadow Palettes ($46.00 CDN each), I was most drawn to one (even though I now secretly love them all!). If you haven't had the opportunity to try Mary Kay eyeshadows, they truly are a surprise because the quality rivals a number of big brands. I don't know what I was expecting the first time I tried Mary Kay eyeshadows 10 years ago, but even back then I was not expecting the quality I experienced!

Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eyeshadow Palette Makeup Look

Over the holidays, Mary Kay released three Limited Edition Pure Dimensions palettes with beautifully overlaid textures (I know there must be a word for this...) and equally beautiful colours in mostly shimmery finishes. Each palette works well on its own, but if you would like more depth to your eye makeup looks, having shades from a second palette is best.

Maui Gardens* is the only palette with a matte shadow - a pigmented cobalt blue which I am guessing is inspired by the ocean waves. The other three shades are pigmented, metallic beauties with the olive green shade being my favourite!

Moroccan Dunes* is the most neutral palette of the three as the shades are more subtle and wearable for an everyday glow. My eye immediately goes to the rose gold shade which would look lovely on someone with a fair or darker skin tone. Rose gold tends to disappear on me if I don't have a tan.

Paris Starlight* is the most dramatic of the three and is of course the one that I gravitated to the most! The purple and burnished gold shades had me instantly wanting to slather them all over my eyes!

Final verdict: My only qualm with these shadows is really the packaging. It's pretty bulky and all I want to do is depot them! Pricing is also slightly more than what I was expecting for a palette of this size, but quality of the shadows is TOP NOTCH.
