SKINCARE | Mediheal Line Friends E.G.T Timetox Ampoule Mask Review

Hey, hey, hey! It's sheet mask time again! A lot of the masks I try to feature here on Cosmetic Proof are predominantly for the fun factor because I love a good, honest mask selfie. Some sheet masks are for show while others may look boring, but are in actual fact highly effective. Today's sheet mask is a little bit of both and was a collaboration between well known Korean sheet mask brand Mediheal and Line Friends! Line is a mobile messaging app that I started using a couple of years ago and within the app are very expressive sticker emojis that eventually became a character line beloved by all.

There are four masks each featuring a different Line Friend and we will start with my favourite friend - Brown. Brown is a male bear with tiny ears and eyes and never shows any emotion in his face. From reading his Wiki entry, it's possible Brown might show that emotion with his fists...

The E.G.T Timetox Ampoule Mask is an anti-aging ampoule sheet mask with an essence containing peptides and hydrolyzed collagen aiming to "recover skin's elasticity" and firm and tighten skin. Ampoules contain a more concentrated set of ingredients and are meant to be almost like at home non-injectables. Now, as much as I love peptides and collagen, I've never been one to put much stock into a sheet mask to provide this type of result permanently though the true Asian beauty routine would practically have us wearing sheet masks every day! I sheet masked 3 days in a row this week and I was like "I am SUCH a baller!"

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Trehalose, Betaine, rh-Oligopeptide-1Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Astaxanthin, Propolis Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Honey Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Beta-Glucan, Methylparaben, Allatoin, Triethanolamine, Polysorbate 80, Adenosine, Fragrance

The essence was a slightly floral/sweet fragrance which I have found typical of a lot of sheet masks. There seems to be a generic scent to the essence with one of the few exceptions being the honey-scented essence of the Papa Recipe Mask (review). The actual sheet mask was pillowy and soft, but the fit wasn't fantastic. I felt like it was slightly short in the forehead and too long on the sides of the face.

This is a 10-20 minute mask and after a couple of YouTube reviews of Fenty Beauty, I removed the mask to massage in the remaining essence to reveal nicely firmed skin. This essence left my skin feeling semi-tacky, but hydrated. I only needed a touch of facial oil as moisturizer afterwards.

Final verdict: This mask was not bad at all. The cutesy little bear on my cheek was fun (even if he might be borderline abusive) and my skin actually felt pretty good after. I think the tackiness level is still not great if you are a morning mask person and intend on applying makeup afterwards. I also didn't like that all of my forehead wasn't covered. I'm not sure what happened there, but my forehead definitely felt like it was missing out on the action. I bought a whole pack of 10 of these and I'm not sorry about it since they are decent for the price I paid for them which was around $22. They hydrate, firm (at least for the night) and have a fun print on them so I'm satisfied.

The Mediheal Line Friends Sheet Masks are available at a number of Korean beauty e-tailers. You should have no issues find these!
