Some companies have been doing the green thing for awhile and are REALLY good at it, but when you first get introduced to a brand, it can be hard to know where to start when all of the products seem amazing. Avalon Organics are vegan (with the exception of four beeswax lip balms) and certified organic with their products being plant-based and soothing with essential oils and aromatherapy botanicals for specific skin types. I have found a couple of must-haves that are an absolute must-share and maybe perhaps we can give some of these products away? Hmm?
I have tried a couple of natural haircare products before and there haven't been many that are able to compete with my dry, coarse colour-treated hair though I can still appreciate the scents and what they are meant to do. The Clarifying Lemon Shampoo and Conditioner* scared me a bit because "clarifying" usually means drying and my hair really could use all the moisture it can! This duo contains lemon essential oil, quinoa protein, aloe and vitamin E which all act to clarify, but add a natural shine to hair.
Amazingly enough, this duo did not a bad job and removing product and sebum build-up without stripping my hair of moisture. The conditioner still wasn't quite enough to keep the dryness at bay, but the creamy texture did allow me to get a brush through my hair which is saying something. A big part of what made me keep using this duo was the scent as it was lemony, but in an herbal way. Really quite nice.
The body items are where I fell hard because rosemary, peppermint and lavender are my all-time favourite essential oil scents! The Rejuvenating Rosemary Bath and Shower Gel* feels like most shower gels, has a good lather on a puff, but smells fantastic. If you don't like rosemary then you won't be a fan of this, but the scent is so mentally clarifying that you cannot help but feel better when you inhale this! When you follow this performance up with the Nourishing Lavender Hand & Body Lotion* you have pretty much come full circle when it comes to aromatherapeutic bliss. While this is a thicker lotion, it isn't the slightest bit greasy and can be worked into the skin easily with a bit of massage.
Hand soap is probably the one body product that I go through fairly quickly and when it has peppermint oil in it, it's going to go FAST which is why I now have three bottles of Revitalizing Peppermint Glycerin Hand Soap* stationed around the apartment. I adore this hand soap because it is gentle enough for frequent hand-washing (those cleaning days) without over-drying my hands.
