HAIR | Love Beauty and Planet Murumuru Butter and Rose Collection #EarthMonth

When I was selected by Chickadvisor to try out the brand Love Beauty and Planet, I thought they were just going to be like any other hair and body products, but I was delightfully surprised! Since this month is also about celebrating Earth Day, I realized that I NEED to tell you guys about this affordable, drugstore and earth-friendly brand! All Love Beauty and Planet products are vegan, cruelty-free, sulfate-free and housed in 100% recycled plastic bottles. This company's commitment to the planet doesn't stop there as their goal is to reduce their carbon footprint by 20% by 2020! They even contribute $40/carbon ton to a Carbon Tax Fund which supports programs that reduce carbon emissions and landfill waste. I mean, that's pretty cool right?!

There are 6 collections, which all sound fantastic, but based on my hair needs the Murumuru Butter and Rose line suited me best as they add vibrancy to colour-treated hair. The first product in this collection is the Body Wash and check out that GIANT container! This is 473mL and all in a PUMP bottle! Who doesn't love a pump bottle in the shower?! The scent of this collection is quite floral, but in a creamy way thanks to the Murumuru butter. The body wash itself has a nice lather despite being sulfate-free and did leave my skin feeling relatively soft.

The Shampoo* and Conditioner* turned out to be my favourite items out of the collection! I wasn't a huge fan of the packaging and wished the 400mL bottles were pump like the body wash, but the formulas made up for it! It's hard for me to LOVE clean beauty hair care sometimes, especially at the drugstore level, but this duo had me impressed! The shampoo cleaned my hair of buildup, lathered well, but didn't leave it dry and the conditioner made my hair feel infused with moisture and left it super silky! It felt like there should have been dimethicone in the formula, but there wasn't! The silkiness was especially evident when I went to straighten my hair the next day! My hair was just slip sliding all over my shoulders!

The last item in the collection was the 2 Minute Magic Masque*! My hair is quite long and one pack easily lasts me 4-5 applications so I can't even imagine how long one pack must last for shoulder length hair! This is an incredibly thick conditioning treatment that I use in place of conditioner twice a week and it worked well enough at re-hydrating my ends. It oddly enough did not leave my hair feeling quite as silky as the conditioner, but it's a mask I still enjoy.

When (more like IF) I ever finish the shampoo, conditioner and body wash, I really would like to try the Argan Oil and Lavender and Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower because I found the products straightforward, no fuss and effective for clean beauty products!

Love, Beauty and Planet can be found at Loblaws and London Drugs (at least where I'm at in Vancouver, but let me know if you find more places!)
