MAKEUP | Clarins Spring 2018 Collection with Swatches and Look

I know we are already getting whiffs of the Clarins Summer collection, but I thought the Spring collection was so pretty that I needed to share before we start moving into the bronzed goddess looks of the summer. What I have loved about this year's Spring collections is the dose of pink we are getting! I have chatted about the launch of Clarins SOS Primers which also launched in Spring and I am grateful that they are not going anywhere just yet, but for now let's talk about the other stuff!

Clarins always releases a beautifully cohesive 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette and this season it is in the shade Lovely Rose which can be used wet or dry and swatches beautifully. The formula doesn't feel all that buttery, but I have come to learn that "buttery doesn't always mean bettery".

There is also a brand new shade of Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in the shade Plum* which is a sheer balmy wash of colour which builds up nicely when on the lips. While it is intensely hydrating and comfortable to wear, I often have to reapply after drinking or even after an animated conversation as the plum colour tends to fade in intensity over time.

Final verdict: I loved the femininity of the eyeshadow palette with the pop of red. I don't think I did the palette justice when it came to my makeup look, but this is easily a day to night palette with a smoky eye at the ready with that dark purple! I also liked that the shade Plum swatched on the lips as a more wearable shade as I wasn't sure what to think when I saw how dark it was in the tube! All in all, I found these two pieces to be solid Spring pieces and I think now I am ready for summer! Bring on that giant bronzer!
