NAILS | Bright Veil Nails #ManiMonday

Let's pretend it's still Monday and I'm NOT late with the timing this post. I got it up on Instagram yesterday which still counts right? This week is going to be another crazy, but fun one as I am headed to Las Vegas tomorrow for my day job which I will probably be sharing a little bit of on IG stories as we will be catching Cirque Du Soleil's "O" and of course going shopping for a couple of hours at Sephora between training times!

For this week's manicure, Renee, Trysh and I decided to keep it simple and stick to "Brights" and though I was stumped for a solid day of what to do because the possibilities really are endless, I decided to try Veil Nails again, but this time with a white base and some bright summer shades. All I can say is that Veil Nails DEFINITELY work better with a light base!

I started of with two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in White* and then one by one dropped in the shades: Models Own Hyper Gel in Turquoise Gloss, Models Own Hyper Gel in Cerise Shine, CND Creative Play in Aquaslide* and CND Vinylux in Video Violet* into room temperature water. If you would like to know how I did the actual design, I explain it in my first attempt here! The second time went quite a bit faster as I didn't ruin as many of the "petals" as I did the first time.

I screwed up my thumb though, but luckily I had these cute little bumblebee nail studs from Born Pretty to add to my "flower" theme! I have had this on for a few days now and she has stayed on firmly!

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was when I applied top coat to my nails, the brush tore up the petals a little bit, but it sort of worked out because it added to that mesh effect of the design or as my husband lovingly calls them "condom nails".

I don't think I will have a chance to blog again until I am back from Vegas at the end of this week, but I will be pretty active on Instagram stories so check me out there for the rest of the week! Also don't forget to check out what Renee and Trysh did for their ManiMonday!
