Sheet Mask | Top 8 of 2024 (Because I couldn't think of 10)

It has been eons since I have done a Top ANYTHING on the blog, but the one thing I know well are SHEET MASKS! After picking it up as part of my skincare routine in 2018, I have not stopped and though I don't do them every single day like before, I still manage to use at least 3-4 sheet masks/week making them a beauty product I am quite familiar with! While some of the sheet masks in this list aren't necessarily ones I discovered in 2024, all are masks that I try to have on hand all the time.

VT Cosmetics Cica Reti-A 3 Step Mask

Who doesn't love an all-in-one skincare routine? I have always loved multi-step masks and this one from VT Cosmetics left my skin looking so even-toned right away and also took out the redness in my cheeks. The sheet mask material was cushion-like and soft making for a very comfortable sheet mask experience!

For someone who loves skincare, there are actually just a handful of brands that I use and feature consistently and one of them is Toronto-based MaskerAide. I have been a customer of theirs ever since receiving my very first sheet mask from them to try in my Topbox subscription back in 2013 so I guess this is our 10 year anniversary! There are some new products from MaskerAide that I purchased on my own during Black Friday and when I received my order, the team included doubles for me which was so nice! I have been enjoying this little routine whether all together or just one or two products at a time and thought "why not share it with you all?!"

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Matcha Detoxifying Clay Mask

I think I have just a handful of clay mask reviews on the blog mainly because clay tends to be very drying on my normal/dry skin so I am careful about what I use. For my skin type, a clay mask needs to make my skin feel refreshed and clean, maybe even a little brighter, but never EVER tight. Of the two wash-off masks MaskerAide released in 2020 (this still feels recent to me), I reviewed the Pineapple Brightening Jelly Mask last month (here) and now I have the Matcha Detoxifying Clay Mask!

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Pineapple Brightening Jelly Mask

In the summer of 2020, one of my favourite sheet mask brands, MaskerAide, decided to add something new to their line up - wash off masks! I have been sitting on this review for awhile not for any particular reason, but this is the year I finally catch up! A detoxifying Matcha clay mask was also released in addition to the Pineapple Brightening Jelly Mask, but I will save that for a separate review because it's pretty awesome too!

LIFESTYLE | Five on Friday - Jan 21- (Birch + Fog Order, First Book on Kobo, Yellowjackets, MaskerAide Haul, LEGO N64 Cube)

Putting five relatively interesting things to discuss for today's post seemed to be a bit of a challenge because between work, home and the pandemic, I have realized that I am incredibly uneventful and I don't hate it, but I feel like you will all read this and think I'm so full of it! I feel boring AF! I had a short four day work week which was nice as we are all trying to burn through remaining vacation days before the fiscal year end in March. At my work, we are only allowed to carry over five vacation days and amazingly enough, it can be challenging to actually take vacation over the year as you need to coordinate with other employees to make sure you aren't short-staffed and you also need to be around for certain sales events or risk not making commission!

ONE

NAILS | Inspired by MaskerAide Packaging #CBBxManiMonday

This one is going to be short as I stayed up WAY too late painting these on Sunday and could barely crack open my eyes the next morning. I honestly don't know how I made it through the day as a functional person, but I owe a little bit of my alertness to our building keeping the AC at frigid today. Really kept those senses alert! Anyway, when I was looking for inspiration for my last set of flower nails, I was looking at some of the new beauty products that had arrived and my suddenly my eyes narrowed in on the packaging for the new MaskerAide Rosy Dreams Sleeping Mask! How perfect were these colours?!

SKINCARE | New MaskerAide Rosy Dreams Hydrating Sleeping Mask

If you have been following me for awhile, you will know that I am a very big MaskerAide fan! I first fell in love with this Toronto-based company about 10 years ago after trying out their All Nighter Sheet Mask so I always look forward to whenever they have new products. Last month, MaskerAide released their brand new Rosy Dreams Hydrating Sleeping Mask and all I could say was "Yes, please!"

SHEET MASKS | MaskerAide Signature Line #CanadaEh

I posted my first review of MaskerAide six years ago and it was of one of my favourite and now discontinued sheet masks The All Nighter.  It has been loved by many including Kim Kardashian and though I was sad to see it discontinued, I have enough of a supply for the next year or so, but I don't know how I will react after that so I will have to cross that bridge when it's time! Along with changing up their product lineup, MaskerAide has also revamped their packaging giving it a facelift from the original 2012 designs, BUT thankfully nothing else about the formula or actual sheet masks has changed! I love all their masks, but since I have only really featured The All Nighter on the blog, I figure it's time I talk about the other fantastic masks in the Signature Line collection!

SKINCARE | Head to Toe Dry Skin Loves

I love how just as I am in the process of putting together this post, summer hits in Vancouver and I kid you not, it was 17 degrees when I left for work this morning! All I needed was a very light cardigan and by afternoon I was pretty much sweltering! Nevertheless, maybe some of you will still enjoy these products if you struggle with drier skin or you can add these favourites of mine to your winter wishlist!

SKINCARE | My Top 13 Sheet Masks from 2018!

Well Happy New Year everyone! We have made it to 2019, Trump is still President, Elizabeth Warren has made her bid for 2020, Justin has finally moved on from Selena and the beauty world truly became a lucrative jackpot for brands and makeup enthusiasts alike, but not without some drama. Well, you won't find that here today! I tried out hundreds of sheet masks in 2018 (quite literally thanks to my #100DaysofSheetMasks Challenge) and though it was a bit of a blur, I do have some true standouts to share that truly worked for me starting off with one I talk about a lot!

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Sweet Retreat Mini Sheet Masks #100DaysofSheetMasks

Have I mentioned how much fun I have found skincare these last few months?! I have always loved sheet masks as they are such a huge part of Asian skincare, but never did I realize just how many different types and brands there were! My new (very lofty) beauty goal is to TRY THEM ALLLLL! I love amusing you all with my mask selfies as well as giving you the low down on what ingredients I find valuable, interesting and/or total garbage. There haven't been too many bad ones in the hundred or so sheet masks I have used this year and I hope to bring to the blog more masks that will bring your skin glow and your soul some laughter!

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Rose All Day Rose Gold Peel Off Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

Last week I had mentioned that MaskerAide had come out with four new masks and after having so much fun with Bubble Bubble Pop and Crystal Clear, I knew I would have a blast with Rose All Day!

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Crystal Clear Mini Sheet Masks #100DaysofSheetMasks

Last month, MaskerAide debuted the brand new Fun Line which featured four new masks with new packaging and a totally different way to sheet mask! The first mask, Bubble Bubble Pop, I have already reviewed (here) and loved so I have literally been ITCHING to show you guys the other three masks because they are so goddamn cute! Some of you know that my day job involves pretty, sparkly gems so the new Crystal Clear Mini Sheet Masks* ($7.00 CDN) was the next mask I had to try!

When it comes to skincare, while I love the luxurious pampering sessions of serenely massaging serums and moisturizers, I also love being amused. Bubble masks became big two years ago in the North American beauty world and it just has not stopped since! Last month I became one of the beauty ambassadors for Canadian brand MaskerAide (aka I am now a #MaskerAideBabe) which felt like a fitting partnership as it is obvious I love my sheet masks! I used my first MaskerAide sheet mask five years ago after receiving it in a TopBox and it has been a match made in heaven ever since!

SKINCARE | Maskeraide Let's Face It Purifying Cleansing Stick with Red Beet

OMG guys, I feel like a lot of my Instastories feature the brand MaskerAide and I certainly do not feature this Canadian brand enough on the blog! In fact, I just used the Weather Warrior Sheet Mask during my "get away from the sick husband hotel stay" this past weekend and the smoothness I got in my skin without the use of silicones was amazing. We're not here today to talk about sheet masks though, but we are here to talk skincare because that's our topic of conversation at the CBB this month!

The newest innovation from MaskerAide is the Let's Face It Purifying Cleansing Stick* ($23.00 CDN) which is an oil-to-lather solid cleanser that not only cleanses the skin, but also removes makeup, nourishes and maintains the skin's pH level (I even have litmus proof!) using a blend of beet root, pink clay, rose petals and citrus oil. A stick cleanser is not something I have ever used, but I was definitely game to try it out!

SKINCARE | MaskerAide Tell Me 'Pout It Hydrating Lip Mask

I actually had to look up when I first started using MaskerAide masks and it was in 2012?! Five years feels like a lifetime ago and I'm happy to say that I still actively use MaskerAide sheet masks with my favourite one being the All Nighter for its peppermint scent! Over the years, MaskerAide has expanded their love of masks to hydrogel patches for the eyes (love these for traveling!) and now the lips! The Tell Me 'Pout It Hydrating Lip Mask* is the answer to getting the perfect pout for that ultra daring pigmented matte lippie you have been dying to try or just giving your lips the boost they need without going under the needle!

BEAUTY | 13 Travel Essentials

By the time this post goes up, I will be on flight to sunny, I mean snowy Montreal! Flying is hard for me as I get incredibly anxious whenever I have to travel so I tend to anticipate every possible need I may have including items for surviving the flight itself. I have MANY essentials, but have narrowed it down to a mere 13 items just to make this a post instead of a novel!

November 2013 Empties

I’m not going to lie, I made my husband carry these empties to our new apartment. I may not have told him what was inside the box, but he dutifully hauled over all of my beauty products whether they were filled with product or not! Let’s see what I managed to get through for the month of November!

September Empties

September was a bit of a blur when it came to products for me. I didn’t really have my “empties game face” on when it came to getting through product. I’ve been scared to mix up my skincare too much because the last thing I need is to have some sort of reaction on my face on the day of my wedding so I have been playing it EXTREMELY safe. I may as well be using baby products at this point!
