I have been feeling incredibly nostalgic the last few months which has led me to looking at products I loved back in the heyday of "beauty influencing" as well as going back to watching beauty videos from OG YouTubers like Tati, Lara Lee and Nikki La Rose. While I still cannot stand Lara's style of talking, I have not missed a single Tati video since she went back to her roots and away from the beauty drama of 2019. With my renewed interest in a classic beauty video, I was recommended Nikki's videos and while they can be very long and wordy, she seems genuine in her product recommendations so when she went on and on about how amazing the L'Oreal Faux Brow was, I put it on my list to try not realizing I had had it sitting in a box of PR since August 2025. I know, shame on me!

I got my eyebrows microbladed back in 2016 so the tattoo has definitely faded since then, but I still have some left so really I just use an eyebrow pencil to thicken and darken up my brows a little. It doesn't take too long, but I do see a difference in my brows before and after using a pencil.

What makes the Faux Brow a little more interesting are two things - firstly, the fact that it behaves more a like a tint that they say can last up to 2 days! I haven't truly tested this, but I will say that my brows do not budge at all once they have set even if I rub them during the day!

Secondly, is the double brush tip or as Nikki La Rose's husband calls them "the antlers"! These antlers mean that you can "double the look of your brow hairs" which to me means doing your brows in half the time as you have just doubled your brow application productivity!
As the formula is a tint, you do have to shake the pen (you will hear the little *shaker ball*) and though the formula does feel wet, the brush tip is incredibly precise and feather-like strokes are almost foolproof to do.
You can see my bare brows before (above) where I am lucky enough to have a complete brow shape where I have a tail, but just a bit of thinning towards the front. My brow hairs are also fairly fine so darkening and thickening is my main goal which as you can see below gives my face more definition!

Compared to a brow pencil, the Faux Brow is not as soft of a look, especially if you try to brush out your brows to soften the lines, but it certainly does darken them up!
I included this video in an Instagram story in January when someone asked about how it applied and thought it was a good demonstration of showing both of how subtle the Faux Brow is while being incredibly effective at transforming your brows!
Final verdict: I like this! I still use a regular brow pencil, but if I want to frame my face a little more or are wearing more makeup for an event or a more intense eye look, I will use the Faux Brow! I like having both a stain and pencil option that are both fairly goofproof because even if I go a little too intense with the Faux Brow, brushing through my brows right away makes the lines look a bit more natural. I would say that a pencil gives more of the powder brow look and the Faux Brow gives more of a "my natural brow hairs are dark and plentiful" look, but I love both!
