I admit that I really put my deodorant through the ringer as it needs to start working the night before my workday! I take my showers at night and I read a tip a few years ago to apply both my deodorant and dry shampoo the night before and it has actually worked wonders! I wake up feeling more fresh and anything that cuts down on my morning "get-ready" time is one I am totally onboard with!

While this is not a new product, the L'Occitane Cédrat Deodorant Stick deodorant has gotten a makeover in brand new packaging that to me, looks less masculine and more soothing to the eye. The old packaging felt like it was part of a completely different brand!

Happy first Sunday of May! At a glorious 22 degrees Celsius, we are well on our way to summer here in Vancouver and I only wish it would stay at this temperature as this is the most I can comfortably handle, but we are apparently in for a hot and dry summer this year so ugh. I am starting off this month with a brand new Sephora Collection mask that I picked up during the Sephora VIB sale and yes, I am still Rouge despite my beauty purchasing cutbacks. Granted, I am basically making the $1000 cut-off always during the November event instead of before where I was pretty much making it twice over by July!

It has been far too long since I have featured this lovely Vancouver-based brand on the blog, but if you have not tried East 29th's Vital Serum, you and your skin are missing out! Since being introduced to the product via East 29th owner, Victoria Ferguson, I have gone through 4 bottles of it and absolutely do not plan on stopping! For a little while, this was their only product, but then came the Valia Cleanser and Verse Lotion Mist which I am finally going to review today!

Have we all recovered from DST yet and jumping forward? I swear it takes my body SO LONG to catch up now because I can never fall asleep at night, but then wake up feeling like death in the morning. What is exciting (for me) is that BC has decided that this is the last time we will be changing out clocks! We will have permanent DST which I love, but I also understand will be very confusing come November when all the other provinces "Fall Back" and we don't. Well, I guess the time difference will be smaller and maybe easier to work with when it comes to Teams calls for work or chatting with the in-laws!

I feel like I am almost working part-time this month as we are trying to use up some of my vacation days before the end of the fiscal year wraps up since we can only carry over so many days. I had a whopping 10 days that I needed to use which is crazy considering I have never run into this problem before and then we realized that now that my work environment is relatively pleasant, I haven't felt the need to get away! I vowed to myself that I would use this time to get back on track when it came to blogging, but I've actually been working from home as there is a sales target I would like to meet for work and though it's not a big deal for me if I make it or not, it's just something I personally would like to see on my file!

I am getting to enjoy a true long weekend like a "regular person" today as I had requested yesterday off to attend a friend's bridal shower and now I have today and Family Day off so I am using it to do some blog and house chores catch up! I have a new rule. If I am going to buy a new beauty product, I need to talk about it here and/or on social media in more than just a Story. While I know that doesn't necessarily justify the spend, I feel like if I spend money on a product, I should at least do it AND my wallet justice by talking about it. It also forces me to not leave things unopened and forgotten which is currently what I am noticing now with my Sephora VIB purchases from the last 2-3 years. Founded here in Vancouver, BC I have not posted about Skoah since 2014 and it's mainly because I worked there and had a bit of a negative experience at head office where I worked, but now that I have had 10+ years of hindsight and life experience, it's mostly in the past and I feel comfortable sharing about this brand again. It also just goes to show how good the Hydradew Mask is that I have felt the need to come out of "hibernation" to let you all know just how good this mask is!

I have been enjoying a much needed day off today as I just was not in the mood to work yesterday. And by that, I just mean that I wasn't finding tasks that I normally enjoy as fun as usual. I always like to stay busy regardless of how I feel as standing/sitting around on my phone makes me feel mentally and physically worse so if I don't feel like doing a mentally exhaustive task, I will switch to visual merchandising or organizing repairs or just flat out cleaning! I got up relatively early (thanks to Bustyboo) and ended up having breakfast and going for a 5km walk before noon! I have really been trying hard to get at least 10K steps/day and so far, I have been able to keep it up for a over a month! My Apple watch has been telling me what a good job I have been doing LOL!

This is coming a little late, but Vancouver had its first snowfall today and my husband and I took some time to enjoy it by going out for a walk and then having a cozy day in. I actually spent it decluttering my clothes for a combination of donation to Big Brother and selling on Poshmark. Let's just say I got rid of A LOT of hangers and made a good amount of space for what I am hoping for are some quality clothing purchases that will last me the next 10 years!
