I feel like my pile of onhand lip products keeps rotating from oil to chapstick to thick AF balm! Some days my lips are so tough that matte liquid lip colour feels as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants while other times they feel eaten alive by dryness. For the last two weeks, they have been very dry which prompted me to go through my lip stash and rediscover Lano!

Some days my lips are so tough that matte liquid lip colour feels as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants while other times they feel eaten alive by dryness. For the last two weeks, they have been very dry which prompted me to go through my lip stash and rediscover Lano!
For a hot minute a few years ago, Lanolips was all we could talk about! Made with lanolin, this Australian company sources its lanolin from sheep from Australian farmers. Known to be a deeply hydrating, lanolin mimics the skin's own oils to allow for healing and even treating burns. I know that lanolin can be an allergen for some though so luckily I am able to use these lips products without my lips swelling up. Just wanted to throw that out there in case some of you have sensitivities!
Lemonaid Lip Treatment*
On the packaging it says "99% natural and 1% shimmer" and initially I did not know what that meant until I applied this to my lips and saw that it indeed has a tiny bit of mica that gives lips a bit of a silvery appearance. I'm not sure if I like it, but what I DO like is the scent! It's naturally lemony and in addition to its lanolin base, contains almond oil, shea butter and beeswax so this is really a lip treatment for lips in serious need of the "helmet of hydration"!
Multipurpose Superbalm*
For some reason, I didn't take a product shot of the Multipurpose Superbalm, but it is the tube in the light pink which is the more iconic product from Lano as it can be used anywhere requiring serious hydration. The consistency of this balm is incredibly dense so even squeezing it out of the tube is slow! Warm the product between your fingers first before applying to your lips or skin. This product is said to hold 200% of its weight in moisture so if you want to use this as a night mask, you will wake up with baby lips!
Final verdict: While I do enjoy both of these products, I should add that I do not use them all the time because they are both very dense and thick balms and my lips don't always need the intense moisture these provide, but lately with this dry weather, I have been reaching for them!
You can find Lanolips at www.lanolips.com. Unfortunately, Lano is no longer carried at Sephora, but their website does ship to Canada.
