NAILS | BCD NAIL ART CHALLENGE WEEK 8 - Pond Manicure #BCDNAILS

Playing catch-up again with Week 8 of the BCD Nails Challenge with this week's theme (really last week's) being the Pond Manicure which requires a jelly polish. I attempted this manicure 2 years ago (here), but decided to try the more classic "flowers in water" version. Let's just say that the polish I chose was far too dark, but it was too late to look for something new so I sort of improvised and hoped for the best!

MAKEUP LOOK | Everyday Smoky Eyes ft. Rodial (Plus Some New Products!)

In what feels like eons ago, the British company Rodial was all about skincare. I used to pine for their products while reading British blogs like I would pine for Barry M nail polishes. Then Shoppers and Murale started carrying it and the purchasing began! While I am a fan of Rodial's skincare, especially their Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask, I was quite excited when they launched actual makeup (I consider tinted lip balms to be right on the cusp of makeup and skincare).

NAILS | Picture Polish Fool's Gold Swatch #ManiMonday

I am seriously so proud of myself for not missing a Mani Monday since December of last year! It's nice to have some semblance of routine in what feels like a never ending state of entropy! It's also nice to have new nails to start off the week and for this last week of April, I'm kicking off Mani Monday with Picture Polish - Fool's Gold, created in collaboration with Sammy from The Nailasaurus who is one of the queens of nail art with my favourite being her perfect sponge and waterfall gradients. If you don't already follow this girl, you really should!

Bio Beaute by NUXE | High Nutrition Hand Cream and Tinted Reparing Lip Balm Review

In my head, I had the fullest of intentions to fill the blog last week with nothing but Earth Day posts, but my work hours are now later than I am used to and when you get home at 8pm and then need to make dinner, it doesn't leave a lot of time for ENJOYABLE blogging sessions. Let's stretch out Earth Day to the end of April and call it Earth month shall we? I still have a couple more products I wanted to focus on starting with a brand that I seriously need to give more love to - Bio Beaute by NUXE! Created by president of Nuxe, Aliza Jabes, Bio Beaute by Nuxe is an ecocertified, organic generation of skincare with a focus on ingredients from the harvesting of organic fruit. I have been using a number of products over the last year and I think it's time to start sharing some reviews, results and whatnot with you!

Dior Summer 2016 Milky Dots | Dior Addict Milky Tint in Milky Pastel and Milky Plum Review with Swatches

OMG OMG OMG. That is pretty much what tumbled out of my mouth when I just happened to be home and the Dior Milky Dots Collection arrived at my door! Wrapped in polka dotted paper, I did not know what to expect, but then...this collection is blowing my mind like last year's Tie Dye collection so expect to see as many reviews as I can humanly do because my love for this collection is REAL.

I am starting off with the first product that I have been happily wearing on a daily basis - the new Dior Addict Milky Tints ($43.00 CDN)! Coming in four different nourishing lip colours, these have a similar "wet" formula to the Dior Addict Fluidsticks (reviews), but do not have the same pigmentation as they are a tint. I received the shades Milky Pastel* and Milky Plum* and now want/need/have to pick up the other two shades, Milky Peach and Milky Pop to complete my collection!

EXPERIENCE | Aveda Session #6 Going a Little More Blonde and Appointments for Clean Water

I am an Aveda Vancouver Ambassador. All treatments are complimentary.

I am not the most adventurous person and those rare times where I HAVE done something "wild" have involved either a breakup or massive life moment of introspection. Going blonde marked a career change and right now I'm feeling like somewhere in the middle so at my last appointment at Aveda with Rita, who brought up the idea of going lavender(!), I asked to keep the light brown, but add some blonde bits throughout my hair just to bring back some of that brightness. Let's face it, I probably will go back to blonde eventually as I can only pull it off for so long before I'm too old.

EXPERIENCE | Sense a Rosewood Spa ft. the Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Infusion Facial

I was provided a free facial in exchange for my honest review.

I feel like I am constantly being introduced to new skincare lines and as I have *hopefully* entered into my 30s with grace, my taste in skincare has changed alongside my concerns. The last two years has shown me that I really LOVE anything skin-related whether it'd be the newest product or facial treatment and lately I am all about hyaluronic acid and collagen.

We have long been told that these two ingredients are present in many of our skincare products, but a lot of the time I am disappointed when I see how low they are on the ingredients list or when I am told that "product X" has hyaluronic acid that will go "deeper" into my skin, but is it present as a high or low molecular weight molecule? Who knows, right? This is where the Australian brand Intraceuticals caught my attention - with their 3 step hyaluronic layering skincare regime. Starting with low molecular weight HA and layering with higher molecular weights to ensure that every layer of the epidermis is soaking in HA goodness!

NAILS | Essie Bikini So Teeny Dried Flower Spring Nail Art #essienailedit

I know the blog these last two weeks have been filled with nail posts, but my face has been needing a bit of a break from makeup and I've been really feelin' the nails! Today I have an Essie nail polish classic to share - Bikini So Teeny*, a light cornflower blue with a hint of shimmer throughout. Why I haven't purchased this shade is beyond me, but the nail polish universe must have been thinking of me when Influenster sent me this shade in my Essie VoxBox!

EARTH DAY | H&M Conscious Sweet Lemon Hand Cream and Hand Wash Review #EcoCertified

The countdown to Earth Day is ON! For 46 years, April 22nd is the day we globally take a stand for planet Earth and focus our energy on environmental issues and strategies to keep our home planet around for as long as possible. Yes, I drive a car 1-2x a week, but I take transit and/or walk as much as I can. I recycle my cardboard and 1,2,4 and 5 numbered plastics and compost at work. Yes, I am a total consumer, but I do my best and from what I have seen, more than the average Joe so for the next week, Cosmetic Proof will play host for a number of Earth-friendly products starting with the H&M Conscious line.

NAILS | ILNP A.C. Slater Swatch aka Saved by the Bell Memories #ManiMonday

Don't judge me for how long I have had this polish...since 2013. I am grateful for making the purchase before our dollar started to fall, but the indie nail polish brand I Love Nail Polish or better known as ILNP, has always been one of my favourites for its droolworthy swatches of some of the most delectable nail polish shades and finishes. It all doesn't help that one of my first blogger friends Christa from ChrissyAi is the hand that is doing all the swatching!

NAILS | BCD NAIL ART CHALLENGE WEEK 7 - Going Retro with Old School Pac-Man! #BCDNAILS

For this week's BCD Nail Art Challenge the theme is "Retro" which made me think of those old school arcade games like Pac-Man! I had my 13th birthday at an arcade playing Dragon's Lair and I still miss playing those types of video games to this day. For today's nail art, I used the Pac-Man tutorial from Meghan of Will Paint Nails for Food (here) as she is one of my favourite nail artists despite her absence from social media and blogging for almost a year now. I hope she comes back soon!

MAKEUP LOOK | Mary Kay Into the Garden Patricia Bonaldi Color Compact Review with Swatches

Spring collections are always so soft and feminine and make me feel like a true girly girl. Though I'm not the best at keeping up with who's who in the fashion world, fashion designer Patricia Bonaldi is one of the fashion world's "it girls" (according to my awesome Googling skills). Known for enticing intricate florals in her work, what could be a better collaboration for Spring with Mary Kay? The limited edition Into the Garden Color Compact* ($45.00 CDN) is the perfect embodiment of Spring with its shades of violet, taupe, pink and brown along with sheer lip shades inspired by new Spring blooms.

NAILS | Picture Polish Spring Swatch #ManiMonday

I am in love. Picture Polish NEVER ceases to amaze when it comes to their nail polish shades and at this point, I don't buy a lot of nail polish anymore. It takes a truly unique shade to get me to buy and Spring by Picture Polish was one of them!

NAILS | BCD NAIL ART CHALLENGE WEEK 6 - The "Grey"-dient #BCDNAILS

I am finally all caught up now with the BCD Nail Art Challenge with this week's theme being "Grey". It's a bit of a depressing colour for spring, but I promise next week's "Retro" will be filled with colour and smiley-faced emoticons! This grey gradient came from the depths of Pinterest (here) from one of my favourite nail artists, Carly Sisoka, who I consider one of the best when it comes to coming up with gradient colour combinations. When you see them you always go, "Why didn't I think of that?!"

MAKEUP | For Beloved One Melasleep Whitening BB Cream in Ivory Review with Swatches

Earlier this year, Taiwanese cosmeceutical skincare brand For Beloved One, made its official launch into the Canadian market at none other than T&T Supermarket! For anyone that has been to the Metrotown T&T in Burnaby, you will know that it is skincare HEAVEN so if you are wondering whether a makeup launch in a grocery store is weird, trust me, it isn't! The day after the FBO event in Vancouver, I got horrifically ill with orthomyxovirus aka "The Flu" and didn't get a chance to experiment in full with the line until a few weeks after. I DID end up using one of their famed biocellulose face masks in an attempt to cool down my 104 degree fever (here) and it was VERY soothing.

MAKEUP | The Face Shop Ink Lipquid in Orange Some and Pink Hommage Review with Swatches

Honestly, I have been making way too many trips to The Face Shop. Everything from the packaging to the pricing of nail polish, makeup and of course sheet masks, is enough to make me NEVER walk out of the store empty handed! Late last year, the Ink Lipquids ($25.00 CDN) totally caught my eye because they sounded like a combination of a stain and a liquid lipstick with the added hydration.

NAILS | BCD NAIL ART CHALLENGE WEEK 5 - Moody Metallic Gradient #BCDNAILS

Last week's Mosaic BCD Nails Challenge (here) took a ridiculous amount of time to do and I was pretty proud of myself for putting in the hours so I decided to keep them for the weekend. It put me one manicure behind for this challenge, but I will hopefully be able to make it up this week! I had a bit of rough week at work and though nothing bad happened, I was just feeling a bit overwhelmed and with Week 5's theme being "Emotion", I thought that instead of being "social media happy", I'd do a manicure that showcased how much of a moody *ahem* witch I was last week.

Using mark. by Avon's new Precious Petals Trend Mini Nail Lacquers in Steel Magnolia* and Green Thumb* as well as some Avon nail studs, I thought I'd go with conveying how icy blue my soul felt all of last week. Dramatic, I know.

SKINCARE | b.liv Immerse Me Utmost Moisture Original Japan Silk Mask Review

Asian skincare is dominating the North American market and I could not be happier to find my favourites in the aisles of Sephora and in Asian cosmetics stores downtown. I wouldn't say that I necessarily stay on top of Asian beauty trends, but I have been following Singaporean bloggers for the last 5 years and reading about what's hot and happening in Asia. Back then, all of it was so incredibly foreign that I remember having to order Asian beauty products from obscure online shops. When the Malaysian-based brand b.liv (my home country!) reached out for a collaboration, I was thought, "Where have I seen this brand before?" and I realized that their parent company is Cellnique, a more "medically-targeted" line that I had read about.

b.liv already has some hero products, mainly targeting blackheads and pores as the foundation of the brand rests on "pore management solutions". The packaging and website feel fun and youthful with product names such as "Off With Those Heads" and "Feel No Sluggish" to give you a bit of a laugh! I was sent a few things to try, but based on my skincare needs for the last month, I wanted some moisture! The Immerse Me Utmost Moisture Original Japan Silk Mask* ($2.50 USD each) was introduced in 2011 and provides skin with a massive dose of hydration with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and cogongrass extract, known for imparting immediate and lasting hydration.

MAKEUP | Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Diorama, Princess and Mirrored Review & Swatches

There's a new gloss in town. The Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss is a new formulation for Dior referred to as a "hydra-plumper gloss" that promises volume, shine and an iridescent sparkle that is easy and comfortable to wear. With "hyaluronic acid spheres" that capture and keep moisture in, lips stay hydrated and plump. All I know is that my lips were quite shiny and with 18 new shades, there is definitely something for everyone.
