This last week definitely deserves a solid blog entry as I had taken it off to celebrate my birthday so there were lots of things and events to note!
ONE

I went Dior hat shopping! I don't wear hats very often, but my husband and I go for a lot of summer walks and I started getting worried about burning my scalp as who wants to slather on sunscreen onto the roots of your hair?! I figured a physical UVA/UVB barrier was best and since I only own one big straw hat, I wanted something a bit smaller that didn't take up the width of the sidewalk! I didn't get this exact hat, but ended up getting a bucket hat instead that was more subtle on branding and creme-coloured! Although trying on the straw hats, I was smitten! They were MUCH cuter than I thought they would be!
TWO

This unappetizing-looking monstrosity has been THE TASTIEST dessert I have tried in awhile! A friend and I had lunch at Cactus Club in Coal Harbour and this Mocha Mousse is new on the menu and from their Test Kitchen. It looks like total crap (literally!), but tastes absolutely amazing! This is made with: espresso cake, ice cream, salted caramel, peanuts and warm chocolate mousse. The peanuts and gold leaf were added after customer feedback of just a misshapen slab of chocolate were taken into account LOL! I have to go back there and try this again because it was like eating Ferraro Rocher and Skor all in one!
THREE

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that my last few weeks have been filled with a lot of Dior events! A question I get asked a lot is whether theses are influencer events and they are not. The invites are for VIP clients only and I appreciate that! I think in a sales-based environment, these events should be for generating sales directly and it also encourages the Dior staff to truly give the best treatment since everyone is a client and will be purchasing. Basically, the time the staff put in will have a direct result on their sales for the day, week or month and as someone in the luxury space, I commend Dior at Holts for giving their VIP clients the best treatment! *END RANT*
This particular event was in honour of the Dior Privee Fragrance collection as it was only at Holts for two weeks (normally it stays in Montreal). This was a tea making event where, in partnership with David's Tea, we would make dried tea bags with ingredients representing our favourite Dior Privee fragrance! The cute thing was that our tea bags were personalized with our initials! How could I ever use this?!

FOUR

I had lunch with a friend at the Holt's Cafe and ordered the Holts Benny Sando with smoked salmon on a croissant, Hollandaise, chives with a soft poached egg and tater tots on the side. I normally never finish everything on my plate, but this I did! Everything was GONE! From having the egg yolk oozing all over the croissant to the super crispy tater tots, I was a very happy girl!
FIVE
After lunch at Holts Cafe, my friend and I attended a Dior Floral Basket Workshop and made these super pretty bouquets! I wish they were dried flowers, but I took as many photos of the fresh flowers as possible as they were only meant to last 2-3 days. We both had a fabulous time and I will never forget it!
Have a great weekend everyone!
