I have been raving about Quebec-based brand BKIND and their nail polishes for the last few weeks of CBBxManiMondays and now we are moving into their skincare! I know that single product reviews are sooo 10 years ago, but you know what? I find that doing a mixture of both round-ups and single product posts keeps me more organized and helps me remember better what I have talked about with all of you here! Sometimes certain products deserve a conversation of their own and since we are featuring Canadian brands this month, BKIND is gettin' their own post!
Being a devoted double cleanser, I ALWAYS use either a cleansing oil or balm as my first cleanse to remove makeup and sunscreen. Most of the cleansing balms I have used in the past have been from Asian brands and they all have a similar kind of texture so I was very interested to see how BKIND would interpret this very step of a skincare routine!
Formulated with a blend of apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and castor seed oil, this cleansing balm promises to gently lift and dissolve makeup while conditioning the skin with mango and cocoa butter. Like a traditional cleansing balm, this is first applied to dry skin and once mixed with water, turns into a milky emulsion that rinses off quite easily. It does not leave the skin squeaky clean, but it does not leave a film on the skin either. It leaves skin feeling soft and with a bit of plumpness.

An important question we all have is whether this cleansing balm can easily remove all waterproof mascara and eyeshadow/liner and the answer is YES! It also does not burn the eyes or leave you with blurry vision like some cleansing oils/balms do so I happily massage my eyelids and lashes with this stuff knowing that I will be able to see after I rinse it off!
INGREDIENTS: Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, C10- 18 Triglycerides, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Caprate, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Mangifera Indica Seed Butter, Trihydroxystearin, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja Oil
Final verdict: This was a perfectly lovely cleansing balm! The consistency is a little bit different than what I was expecting, but in a good way! The only thing that made me raise an eyebrow was the price as this is $40 for 100g which is a bit more on the expensive side compared to a Korean cleansing balm, but my eyes felt better. I also found myself using less product because of how thick it was so perhaps the cost/use works out! I would purchase this on my own though once I have used up more of my existing stash since it does feel quite luxurious!
