MAKEUP | Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick Review with Swatches

Hello, new favourite lipstick. Avon, you need to stop it (or not!) with coming out with more makeup that makes me need to find an Avon consultant in my neighborhood! I love the look of a matte lippie, but we all know that wearing a matte lipstick means some lip prep and dryness as the hours go by. The first matte lipsticks I ever tried left my lips feeling parched, but along the way I have found a few different ones that are a compromise between intense lasting colour and comfort. Now, I have found a matte lipstick that feels like I am applying layers of cloud on my lips! Avon's True Color Perfectly Matte Lipsticks ($10.00 CDN) has honestly renewed my faith in matte lipsticks and today I have seven delicious colours to rave about!

The weightlessness of these lipsticks is due to our favourite primer ingredient: dimethicone. As much as I detest this ingredient in my night cream, I love it in my makeup because this is how I know it will last and feel oh-so-smooth on my face, eyes and lips! 

Coming in 12 shades, I received: Ravishing Rose*, Electric Pink*, Perfectly Nude*, Adoring Love*, Red Supreme*, Hot Plum* and Coral Fever* which are the shades I would wear most often. 

When you have more than two of the same lipstick in different shades I always appreciate a clear cap! Sometimes I store lipsticks upside down so I can readily see the shade name, but clear caps take the guesswork out.

These swatches are one swipe and that's it! There is no tugging on the skin and you know when a lipstick is so smooth that you actually slow down your swatch so you can really FEEL that buttery goodness go down your arm? That is THIS lipstick right here! I just wanted that feeling to last because the texture was just so incredibly smooth! Final verdict: Matte lipsticks generally have pretty good wear time due to the lack of stickiness and I wore Hot Plum to a 1 year old's birthday party where I ate, drank and engaged in shenanigans befitting a children's party and I can say the colour lasted! Though the formula does smear a little with physical force, I did not experience feathering or bleeding. My lips felt a little dry around the 2 hour mark, but it certainly was not as bad as what I have felt with other matte longwear lipsticks. The quality of these rivals some luxe brands I own that are 3x the price and these colours are to die for in ANY season so I HIGHLY recommend these matte lipsticks! Go stalk your Avon consultant and just buy them by the handful!
