Happy 2026! We made it everyone! It only made sense for the first review of this year to be all about *GLOW* so here we go with the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum!
You are not going to believe this, but this is actually the FIRST BOJ product I have ever tried! I came pretty close with their sunscreen, but I told myself to stop as I had and still have other sunscreens to get through so I'm sure at some point I will try their iconic sunscreen, but for today we are all about glowing into 2026 with propolis and niacinamide!
What makes this serum special? This serum promises glass skin that is hydrated, calmed and nourished with propolis extract and niacinamide. It also contains a much more gentle form of salicylic acid in the form of betaine salicylate which is about half the strength of standard salicylic acid. The featured ingredients are also in the top of the ingredients list so this serum means business!
This fragrance-free serum is for all skin types and has a slightly thicker than water texture meant to mimic honey, but is not sticky AT ALL and absorbs quickly into the skin making this a fantastic serum to use in humid and hot summer weather! This also layers well when I use a hydrating sheet mask, but want the effects of a brightening serum.
Having only been using this serum for a few weeks, I have yet to report whether it has made a siginificant impact on my skin, but the ONE thing I will comment on is that even my esthetician said my skin looked really good for someone who has just survived the holiday retail season! It has been looking amazingly bright and clear even when I was having my period so maybe it IS working!
Final verdict: So far, loving the texture and I guess others are noticing the results so I will be continuing on with using the serum for the next few months! I am also exfoliating my skin far less in my 40s so I like that the BHA used is a more gentle one. I honestly have no negatives about this serum so far!
