I am back with another gel polish manicure as I found myself having a girls night in while the hubby was off D&Ding with some of his colleagues. I have been doing mainly pink manicures this month as I prefer pink polish to red mainly because of nail bed staining, but thankfully with gel polish staining is NOT an issue! I was tempted just to do a swatch, but I love needle marbling with gel polish so I attempted some hearts as well that ended up looking rather abstract. This whole thing took about 7 minutes from first coat to final cure so not bad at all!
I started off with a peel-off base coat for easy gel polish removal. I actually do this for most of my gel manicures unless I know I won't have time to paint my nails for at least 2 weeks. Subjecting my nails to an acetone soak is not something I enjoy doing and I avoid it if I can. With a peel-off base coat, they just pop right off with no damage to my nail beds!
After my base coat had dried, I cured one coat of J and S Gel Nail Polish in S2R*, applied my second coat of red and then slowly "dripped on" four drops of white gel polish (J and S Gel Nail Polish in J1W*). To create the heart shape, I dragged a thin dotting tool through the middle of the white polish and then cured for 90 seconds.
Any manicure that can be done in 10 minutes is my kind of manicure! Granted, I have spent 2 hours on just ONE hand before doing nail art so I seem to be a bit of an extremist, but one-step polishes get me so excited and literally ANYONE can do them!
