MAKEUP LOOK | Embracing the Green(ery) with Urban Decay and Lit Cosmetics

I had mentioned in my previous blog post that having green and blue hair is proving to be a bit of challenge. Blue is fine, but green is tough. I will be doing a full progress post on my last Aveda visit as I KNEW the colour I had fresh from the salon would fade. JT had mentioned that too much green would end up looking muddy once the colour started to fade. He was right of course so now I'm struggling to figure out what to do in terms of makeup and even CLOTHING until I change up my hair colour again in the next few months. For now, my hair will be an hommage to the Pantone colour of the year - Greenery!

Green Hair Glitter Makeup Look

For this look, I went to my trusty Naked palettes because coloured hair like this usually means rather neutral colours on a day to day basis. I did still want a little bit of drama though so the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette* (review) was my gal!

I have also discovered that if I wear a hint of green somewhere on my eyes, it seems to tie in the green hair with the rest of my body. For a day to day look, I have worn just a green/teal eyeliner, but because glitter always makes the day better, I dug into a pot of Lit Cosmetics in Peacock and lined my lower lash line. I was tempted to apply it on my lips as well, but I still have no idea how to photograph glitter. The photos always come out blurry...

Green Hair Glitter Makeup Look

A darker lip felt appropriate for this look, but I usually wear nude lips because I feel like my hair is loud enough! I secretly want to go wilder, but I am pushing the envelope already at work and unless I get a job with Sephora or Lush where rainbow hair is completely acceptable, I don't see my hair getting wilder than this!

If anyone has had green/blue hair before, do you have any recommendations for a red lipstick that won't make me look like a Christmas tree?
