EMPTIES | June 2026 (The month I finished an entire eyeshadow stick!)

I officially started my "birthday vacation" yesterday and I launched it all fairly hard with going downtown and having dinner at Miku amongst the FIFA and Canada Day festivities so my husband and I were completely "peopled-out" by the time we got home. And on top of that, I was anxious driving home because Evelyn's (the name of my 2004 Honda Civic) engine light came on. I felt the car shudder a bit before it came on so I think it might be a spark plug issue, but I was just praying she would make it home in one piece and I wouldn't have to call a tow truck on a holiday!

I feel like I did really well with my empties last month, but when I look at these photos they seem so unimpressive despite my intense focus on finishing products I've had for awhile! Nonetheless, I am still very proud of myself LOL! Firstly, finishing this Dior Star Foundation* that I kid you not is probably 10 years old was a huge accomplishment! I scooped and scraped as much as I could before finally giving up and cleaning out the bottle which took probably 20 minutes! The other product that I used up was the Rare Beauty Eyeshadow Stick in the shade Contentment which I already had a backup of because I use it almost everyday for work! I was also scraping it out of the tube with a little metal tool so I was proud that I got the absolute max value out of it!

I wash my hair every third day and then curl it the next morning with a flat iron. I ALWAYS use a heat protectant on my hair and thoroughly enjoyed how lightweight this AG Hair Firewall* felt. You would never even know it was there! This is the first heat protectant product I have finished in YEARS and I am proud of myself because usually I am reviewing or trying new things, but now that I have really tried to stick to my "use it up" guns, I am finally seeing some progress!

I had no idea Volition Beauty* was still around, but I received this scrub so long ago in PR when Sephora was still carrying it and used in on my body as it was a bit rougher in texture. It went pretty quickly since at just over 4oz, this is a small amount for the body and I think even if I had used it when it was still fresh, I don't think I would have thought it was anything special. It looks like Volition still has a whackload of cool products though AND they ship only to the US and Canada so should our dollar ever not be so tragic compared to the USD, maybe I will explore this brand again!

As for Lush's Prince Charming*, classic scent, but while the bright pink cream shower gel is fun to look at, the shower just gets too messy so because of this, I have actively been avoiding many of Lush's more brightly coloured products.

Ummm, pat on the back to me for finishing a 48mL serum! The BKIND Brightening Serum* (review coming) was soooo good that I could not stop using it! It smelled like melon and had a lightweight, gel texture that was spreadable and went a long way! I think I have been using this serum for about 6 months and loved every minute of it! I will definitely consider repurchasing at the end of the year depending on how I do with my current collection of vitamin C serums!

Everyone raved about this Vichy Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover* and it IS quite good, but I don't know if it is any better than others I have used in the past? I sometimes still have to go back in with a cotton swab after a shower so I don't see myself trying to replace this.

I finished this ONE little sample last month probably because I was so focused on the full sized stuff, but this Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip in Rose is AMAZING! I was also scooping out the last bits because I loved the coconut scent, the colour and the thick balmy texture. I'm sure there are many other products out there like this, but the shade matched me so perfectly that I ended up buying the full size during the April VIB Rouge sale.

Last month, I said that I would try to do better with my sheet mask usage and I did! I went from using 12 sheet masks last month to 17! While I am off, I will try to get some reviews ready as well, but I am going to keep up with the sheet masking because I am convinced that this is what has kept my skin looking youthful (along with glorious genetics)!
