SHEET MASK | Augustinus Bader Hydrogel Face Mask with TFC8

Augustinus Bader Hydrogel Face Mask with TFC8
Purchased by me

I just wrapped up my one week of vacation and what I love about how I tend to structure my time off is that I leave mid-week and I come back on a Friday because while it is still a weekday, you cannot really follow up on anything because everyone is already packing up for the weekend! Then I work Saturday where I can have more time to catch up and then come Monday, I am ready for the week!

As always, whenever I am off, I like to do staycations and try out beauty products so I put my skin through a few sheet masks including this luxury hydrogel face mask from Augustinus Bader

Augustinus Bader Hydrogel Face Mask with TFC8

I think of Augustinus Bader as more a celebrity brand now, but when I did some research on Dr. Bader and his patented complex TFC8, it did seem promising and as an academic, he is indeed a professor of Cell Biology in Germany, who seems to have moved more into "treatments for the wealthy". While I wish academics stayed academics, the celebrity space always seems to win and then I get a bit suspicious of buying the brand and wanting to give them any of my money.

Augustinus Bader Hydrogel Face Mask with TFC8

What makes this mask special? This mask contains TFC8 which is a blend of lipids and peptides as well as brightening niacinamide all in a bronze-coloured hydrogel mask which I was not expecting! I was expecting a white or clear mask so the bronze colour was a fun surprise!

Mask Summary:

Price: $45 CDN/mask or $250/Box of 6

What it does: Powered by TFC8 to hydrate, plump and illuminate skin while reducing fine lines and wrinkles

Scent: None

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous

Duration: 30 minutes

Thickness: Average for current standard hydrogel

Mask Fit: It fit, but both pieces continuously slid down my face

Tackiness: Medium

Hydration: I think because of the tackiness, my skin did feel hydrated and I didn't feel tight around my eyes or anywhere else so I forgot to apply moisturizer.

Other notes: I WISH I had more to say about such an expensive mask!

Final verdict: I am sure this is a mask that if I use it twice a week, I might start to see some results, but I really find it hard to justify the price considering how many amazing Korean brands are out there that I could afford to use EVERY day to get possibly similar results. It's also not the most pleasant mask to wear on top of the cost. If I had all the money in the world, then maybe I would buy a few boxes of 6 to use all the time, but for now, I will leave this mask for someone else!
