SHEET MASK | Miniso Comic Style Facial Sheet Mask Collection

Miniso Comic Style Facial Sheet Mask Collection
Purchased by me

With a Miniso location a block away from my work, I go from time to time to pick up Asian snacks and check out Asian skincare and makeup. Miniso has a number of house brand sheet masks and a few months ago, I came across these very attractively packaged sheet masks that looked cute and had some fun-smelling scents.

I will start off by saying that all of the masks visually look the same and had the same type of slightly viscous, clear essence. I was a little disappointed that masks with such attractive packaging would be so visually boring once opened. I mean, when something is marketed as the "Comic Style Facial Mask" you would think they would look super fun, but really the only fun thing is the scents! I think I have just jumped right to the end here with this post, but I felt you should know from the start!

Usually the goal of the mask is right on the front of the packaging, but in this case, the main draw of the mask is that it is Strawberry Cake Scent. When I flip to the back, in tiny print, it does say "moisturizing" which actually ALL four masks say so again, it truly is the scent that makes these masks special from each other. There is actual strawberry fruit extract in this mask though it is the very last ingredient in the list.

This mask did indeed smell like strawberry candy and had a super soft and stretchy fit. Fits a bit long on sides of face. Sadly, the finish of this particular mask was quite tacky and I was sticking to my pillowcase well into the morning.

This mask smelled like an instant Asian coffee with a milky sweetness - totally up my alley! However, this mask had a very light tackiness and I could sleep much more comfortably compared to the Strawberry Cake Scent mask. There is actual coffee seed extract close to the end of the ingredients, but not the last at least!

This mask smelled like milky Calpis or Yakult, for those of you familiar with that drink! The essence was lightly tacky and did not bother me when sleeping. On the front, it does say "lactic acid", but it is the very last ingredient on the list.

Sadly, this mask did not smell like pineapple or even like a fruit I recognized. If I focused, it did smell somewhat citrusey, but it was really hard to pinpoint what it was exactly. The essence was more tacky than the Coffee and Calpis masks, but less than the Strawberry Cake mask. There is pineapple extract in this essence, not quite the last ingredient so a little better than the other masks.

Final verdict: What I did like were the scents and the actual mask fabric. At $2 each, these masks were perfectly hydrating and were a pleasant enough experience that I do not regret buying them. Would I get them again? Maybe not for myself, but maybe in a gift bag for a friend just because they look fun!
