Review: YSL Touche Eclat and a Surprise??

Hi Everyone!

For those of us who subscribe to Topbox, we received a sample of YSL’s Touche Eclat and oddly enough, I fell in love and using it really made certain areas of my skin “light up”. It is essentially a concealer pen, but the main idea is to get a shade that is lighter than your actual skin tone so that certain areas of your face look brighter. For the month of March, The Bay had a $10 off coupon for the Touche Eclat pen at the YSL makeup counter so I decided to take advantage of it. My bf was nice enough to pick one up for me since he works close to The Bay. I was nice and wrote down what he needed to ask for and in what colour since he had no idea what I was even sending him in to get!

It comes in a brush-like pen applicator and in a variety of shades. I got shade #8 with my fingers crossed that it would be the right one. The sample from Topbox was #2 and I would have liked a shade that was slightly darker so I hoped #8 would be the one and it was!

So, this is where the story gets interesting and why YSL’s Touche Eclat will always be special to me. When my bf came home he asked me if I wanted to make sure the colour was right for me and when I pulled out the concealer pen, I heard a rattle rattle inside the box! This is what I saw at the bottom of the box!

  13. DUDE!!! I'm just going through your posts now, I want the Birks armorique as well! But the one split shank one which unfortunately only comes in platinum and is therefore SO F'N EXPENSIVE! Sigh. This ring is absolutely beautiful!

    1. Thank you!! My ring had to remounted because I am a size 2, but it all worked out in the end :) LOL, the split shank one is a beauty!! Platinum is always a little bit more usually around $1500 - $2000 more than the 18k white gold. I really love the Amorique because I wanted a ring that was Canadian and having it be a Birks exclusive made me feel like I was getting something special.

    2. Holy crap, a size 2! I thought I had tiny fingers, I was sized as a 4 & 1/4, that's big compared to your tiny finger :P I really like the Birks blue as well, but the split shank amorique has had my heart from the get go, both my bf and I keep comparing everything else to it and obviously nothing compares. Sigh.

    3. Yeah, I'm really really small! I've never met anyone, who was an adult, with my finger size! You DO have tiny fingers, I'm just a freak of nature! Oh the Amorique sparkles like no other...have you thought about putting the ring on a Birks Card? That's what we ended up doing, so we're on a 10 month no-interest plan which has been awesome!

  14. That's such a sweet story :) I wouldn't have thought to have incorporated makeup packaging into a proposal, but kudos to his creativity ;) That ring is some serious bling!

    1. LOL, he knows me quite well! The ring looks bigger than it is mostly because I have a size 2 finger! It's 0.66ct cushion cut diamond, but looks like a carat.
