April 2013 “Regular” Topbox

We are back to the regular Topbox for this month as the ever-popular Elizabeth Arden box didn’t really do too much for me as I already owned samples of the Prevage serum, mascara and the makeup remover which I ended up receiving anyway! I still enjoyed my Topbox though as it truly was a surprise!

Boxx Cosmetics Travel Size BrushDSC_0065

Brush hairs are made of the best quality European sable, super-soft goat and 3 toned synthetic Konex fibres to ensure that each application provides perfect results!

Thoughts: The brush hairs are most definitely soft and is a great little multi-purpose travel brush that can easily be tucked away into my UNII palette. It’s a crazy expensive brush though and I’m sure there are other options out there that are more reasonable…*cough* RT brushes…

Full size: $26/small eye shadow brush

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Elizabeth Arden All Gone Eye and Lip Makeup RemoverDSC_0062

This two-phase formulation easily, gently removes even transfer resistant waterproof makeup.

Thoughts: I know I already have one bottle of this, but I love it for removing lipstick completely. It leaves my lips soft, but a little weird tasting so make sure you wash it off!

Full size: 100mL/$24.00

I received: 50mL/$12.00

Michael Todd True Naturals Jojoba Charcoal Facial ScrubDSC_0063

Unique facial scrub that refines texture and encourages skin renewal, leaving skin smooth and refreshed.

Thoughts: I love face scrubs so much that I wish I had two heads sometimes! This scrub is gentle enough to be used on very delicate skin and who doesn’t love a good charcoal scrub?

Full size: 100mL/$18.00

I received: 30mL/$5.40

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for EyesDSC_0064

Ultra-hydrating cream infuses moisture for immediate and long term relief from dryness.

Thoughts: I have yet to try a product from Murad AND I was looking for a new anti-aging eye cream to try so yay! The sample is quite small, but I think I should be able to get at least a week’s worth of use out of it. As I approach 30 wonderful years on this planet, I am doing my best to keep those wrinkles at bay!

Full size: 15mL/$69.00

I received: 3.5mL/$16.10

Total value of April Topbox: $59.50

I can’t believe that the little make up brush is worth $26, but I’m fairly happy with my regular Topbox and I’m wondering what next month’s Prive boxes will be? The sneak peeks so far have shown as a MaskerAide Topbox which I’m not sure I’d go for as I went mask crazy during their Boxing Day sale! I will admit that beauty boxes don’t quite hold the same excitement for me as they did at the beginning and having Glymm practically run off with my one year sub money has left a bad taste in my mouth, but I genuinely still look forward to seeing these beautiful boxes in my mailbox so it might be awhile more before I cease the beauty box habit!

Have a wonderful night everyone!

  2. Oh I would have been happy getting that brush!
I hear you on the subbies situation. I am thinking of dropping Luxe Box. It just hasn't wowwed me the past two boxes.Plus I have so many samples now LOL I could start my own sample service. HAHA
I still cannot believe Glymm has not responded to their customers yet. I feel for you. Just paying for a year sub and then no boxes. WTF? I am just so thankful I got out when I did and blew all my points before they cancelled the point system. Shitty situation. Hope you get a refund!

    1. I don't think I'd get the MaskerAide Prive Box just because I have so many of them already, but I think I might actually try the Coolway one!

  11. I'm jealous you got the eye cream! I can't believe the price of those brushes. RT and EcoTools sure have them beat in terms of price.

    1. Yeah, I don't think I'd ever buy a brush from Boxx Cosmetics when I can have one from Ecotools and RT for sure!

  12. I definitely want to try that makeup remover. I ordered the same Michael Todd scrub from Beyond the Rack a couple weeks ago. I think I paid $15 for a full size. Also, the brush is SO expensive!

    1. It's a great remover that works and is fairly gentle. I haven't been on BTR in awhile! The shipping used to turn me off so I always made sure that I ordered a lot!

  14. Definitely call your credit card for Glymm - it sucks they just up and left! That Murad cream looks great - I even like the packaging it's in (even though I know jar packaging isn't all that great, but I think it's fine as it's a small sample and you'll use it up quickly!)
