Review-Demeter Fragrance Library Pick-Me-Up Cologne Spray

A couple of weeks ago I made a relatively large order from the Demeter Fragrance Library and was itching to order again despite the brokerage charges I was stuck with. Luckily I was informed that Demeter was readily available at Superstore in BC! Awesome! There were a couple of other scents that were very intriguing and Demeter was lovely enough to send me a few to review and spray myself silly with.

Rain

This is a scent that is very hard to describe for me. I don’t love it, but I don’t dislike it either. When I think of rain, I think of feeling the humidity in the air which is perfectly captured in Rain. The rest of the scent borders on fresh laundry or soap with a bit of earthiness mixed in. A person’s imagination of how rain would be captured in a scent is very personal so I would get a small size of this first before purchasing a larger bottle. This scent would make a fantastic body lotion or shower gel which can also be purchased from the Demeter website.

Dirt

This is my absolute FAVOURITE scent! Talk about an olfactive experience! Yes, it smells like dirt, but sweeter making you feel cozy and comforted. It has a slight “afterscent” that reminds me a lot of a classic bar of soap. It wears beautifully throughout the day and evolves into a soft and clean-smelling scent (at least on me).

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Again, Demeter has managed to capture this scent perfectly, but unfortunately I’d rather not smell like chocolate-covered cherries all day. As a soap, body scrub or lotion this scent would be much more appealing to me, but as a cologne spray it’s just not for me. It’s just too sweet for me which is saying something!

When it comes to capturing a feeling, thought or a bit of nostalgia, Demeter truly does it best with scents like Paperback, Black Pepper, Bourbon and even ones for Zombies! There is of course an entire Sanrio Collection as well as a Tootsie Roll Collection! Demeter has it all!

  1. I'm so curious about the "dirt" scent, haha! Can't imagine what it would smell like. Chocolate Covered Cherries sounds delicious, but I don't think I'd want to smell like that all day either! I definitely need to check out more Demeter fragrances :)

    1. Demeter captures it fairly well, although rain in Vancouver smells a bit different than what's in the bottle!

  5. I picked up the pineapple and lilac. Now, probably not everyone wants to smell like a pineapple, but I find the scent a refreshing boost. The lilac is lovely. My life is way more edxpensive since I discovered your blog, Jayne! :)

I love the smell of pineapple! I have a face scrub that smells like it and I always give it a sniff before I apply :)
