April Luvs

After having a couple of pretty unadventurous months when it came to trying new products, I now have a post worthy of sharing with you all! I forced myself to try a lot of new things and use them consistently over the last month. It turned out to be a good strategy and gave me some new products to love!

Let’s get started shall we?

1. Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream

Look at the size of that tube! It’s 414mL which is crazy! I have gone through a full size tube of the regular 250mL tube before so when I saw this at Winners, I figured I would easily go through it. It is a great scent, very subtle and when it comes to consistency, Bliss body butters remain one of my all time favourite consistencies. Fairly thick, absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and not greasy. I don’t know how they did it, but Bliss did it right!

2. The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Cream

The newest scent from the Body Shop, I didn’t know what to expect. When I think of Absinthe, I think of the alcoholic beverage, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The scent is very fresh, almost herbal and is quite light in consistency making it quick to absorb into the skin.

3. L’Occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Cream in Milk

This stuff is just great. This moisturizer can be used on the hands, face and body and smells like shea butter to me. The consistency is somewhere in the middle and is perfect for this transition into warmer weather. One of my favourite things about this product is the bottle because it is a twist mechanism that disperses the lotion instead if an actual cap. Once you’re done, twist back!

4. Lush Snow Fairy Limited Edition Shower Gel

I had heard such wonderful things about this product and how its scent was incredibly addictive and boy were “they” right! It’s like showering with pop rocks! The scent is delectable! I believe it comes out every Christmas so it’ll be available in just a few months!

5. Cake Satin Sugar Dry Shampoo Spray

Such a great product! I love spray on dry shampoos and this one sprays on clear AND smells liked FRESHLY BAKED COOKIES!! It doesn’t leave a gross residue on the hair and makes it feel fresh!

6. Origins A Perfect World Age Defense Skin Guardian with White Tea

I have been using this as a serum, but it’s an interesting product because it has the consistency of a primer. It gives your skin a velvety feel while hydrating your skin at the same time. It has a slight citrus scent thanks to lemon and sweet orange essential oils, but more importantly contains Silver Tip White Tea which contains many anti-oxidants making this an anti-aging product.

7. Origins A Perfect World for Eyes Firming Moisture Treatment with White Tea

After loving the Skin Guardian, I started hunting for a thicker eye cream that I intended to use at night. After trying numerous ones at the Shoppers Drug Mart boutique, I decided on another Origins product and ended up loving it. It is thick and hydrating for my very dry under eye skin and I truly feel “encapsulated” once I use this in conjunction with Skin Guardian. Free radicals and pollution, take your best shot!

8. Too Faced Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blush in Who’s Your Poppy?

This I received as a gift from the lovely Traci from drinkcitra and is a beautiful shimmery coral blush. It is similar to NARS Orgasm, but not quite as pigmented. I used it everyday for the month of April and it gave me the most perfect hint of colour. I will miss it for this month when I switch to something else so my other blushes don’t get lonely!

9. Demeter Fragrance Library Pick Me Up Cologne Spray in Dirt

I reviewed this scent and it’s fantastic so I won’t go into more detail other than, it’s unique and is a must-have for any fragrance lover.

10. The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes

These shimmer cubes have been around for awhile, but this is my first! These are all beautiful colours and when it comes to eye shadows, I tend to wear only browns and purples for work so this palette has come in very handy. The pigmentation is on the lighter side and you do need to pick up quite a bit of product for the colour to show up.

11. Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Gabrielle

This is a new discovery that I am loving!!! I must do a review of this soon because it has been a lipstick that I have been reaching for A LOT! This is wonderfully nude-pink colour and a slight peppermint scent and tingle. This is balm/lipstick and actually wears for a good number of hours before I have to reapply.

12. Dior Lipstick in Twill

I won this in a giveaway and has been a great, creamy nude lipstick. It wears like lipstick, but feels like a lip balm and is something I have been reaching for when my eye makeup is more bold.

13. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 03

I got this a few months back and wasn’t quite sold on it because I felt like it didn’t enhance my lips at all, but after giving it another go, it DOES make me lips look healthier and more plump. I don’t think I used enough before and I now squeeze out enough to give my lips a “jelly layer”. The best part is, this is glossy, but NOT sticky! It has also been great for layering especially with a neutral like Twill.

And those are my April Luvs!
