MAKEUP REVIEW | Tie Dye Collection Dior Addict Fluid Sticks in #449 Ciel Rose, #379 Tropiques, #779 Plaisir with Swatches

Ah, Dior Addict Fluid Sticks. This pigmented, long-wearing lip colour has been on my radar since last year as each shade is lovelier than the last. This summer, Dior is adding three new permanent additions to the Fluid Stick line: #449 Ciel Rose* ($35.00 CDN), #379 Tropiques* and #779 Plaisir*. Dior Fluid Sticks boast flawless application in one fell swoop with a water-based formula that leaves lips feeling light, but drenched in long-lasting colour.

True to their word, the texture of these Fluid Sticks is indeed very “fluid” and almost watery. The feeling is similar to a lip stain with that wet, cold feeling upon application that I actually dislike, but hey we all “suffer” for beauty don’t we? The scent is also not the best, but it’s a lip stain scent that I have smelled before so I have a feeling it is something inherent in the formulation. The colour payoff though? Amazing. I love each colour from the rosewood Ciel Rose (what it looks like on my face), to the coral pink Tropiques and finally bright fuchsia Plaisir.

The doe foot applicator is triangular for extra precision, but is also slightly curved to hug the lip’s surface in just the right way.

I feel like every shade now looks different on me because of the blonde hair, but Tropiques is a pleasantly bright pink with a dash of coral that I think NOW looks better on me than it would have before.

Here is a bonus of Tropiques in full daylight, but I couldn’t continue thanks to the smokiness of all of the BC forest fires :-( My eyes were actually burning hence the pained expression.

Plaisir is the dramatic one of this trio, but is a wonderful shade for the summer. Being as it’s not quite red, it can still be worn to spruce up a day look and give that punch of colour to a neutral look.

Final Verdict: I can’t even choose a favourite colour out of the three because all are totally wearable at any time and for any occasion. Application was indeed one swipe, maybe an extra one to even out some areas and the curved doe-foot applicator made precision very natural. Wear time is 3-4 hours WITHOUT eating. The colour transfers very easily to skin, bread, straws so I tend to eat very carefully when wearing these. This is a bit of a splurge product at $35 each so I’d probably choose a colour that I’d wear a lot or a shade that is so brilliantly amazing nothing in your collection even comes close. As much as I’d love to own the other 16 shades, I will probably stick to neutrals and pinks and MAYBE a brilliant glossy red.

The Tie Dye Dior Addict Fluid Sticks are available now at The Bay, Holt Renfrew, select Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and Sephora.
