NAILS | In My House, It Will Always Be the Year of the Cat

I know I have tons of blue glittery polishes, but this was a December release from Picture Polish and it's called Kitty. I mean, come on I HAD to get it! This is a blogger collaboration with Metka from Lacquered Bits and it is a blue sparkly holo with multi-coloured glitter mixed in. I can't even describe it well because I just get so lost in it!

MAKEUP LOOK | Embracing the Green(ery) with Urban Decay and Lit Cosmetics

I had mentioned in my previous blog post that having green and blue hair is proving to be a bit of challenge. Blue is fine, but green is tough. I will be doing a full progress post on my last Aveda visit as I KNEW the colour I had fresh from the salon would fade. JT had mentioned that too much green would end up looking muddy once the colour started to fade. He was right of course so now I'm struggling to figure out what to do in terms of makeup and even CLOTHING until I change up my hair colour again in the next few months. For now, my hair will be an hommage to the Pantone colour of the year - Greenery!

NAILS | CND Vinylux Blue Eyeshadow Swatch and Swirly Yellow Nail Art

On Tuesday, CND had their Spring "New Wave" Collection launch at Onyx Aesthetics in Vancouver's Gastown area. I work in the area so I used my lunch break to get a sneak peak of the new shades as well as get a little manicure! I saw some beautiful Shellac manicures (did you know that the term "Shellac" was actually coined by CND?), but we all know that having a 2 week manicure just stresses me out so I opted for a Vinylux Weekly Polish mani in this stunning shade of blue called Blue Eyeshadow and then added another shade from the New Wave collection at home using nail vinyls called Banana Clips*.

Makeup Look | Gettin' Smoky with the Mary Kay Rock the Runway Eyeshadow Palette

Alright, alright (say it like Matthew McConaughey) let's get to some more Mary Kay love! I think we often forget about directly sold brands like Mary Kay because we don't see them in big box places like Sephora, but we really shouldn't because they make a ton of good makeup! I first started buying Mary Kay makeup in 2006 when I found out one of my co-workers was also a Mary Kay consultant. I loaded up on Satin Hands, Satin Lips and a couple of eyeshadows which kept me going for a good couple of years. The makeup quality has only improved since with shadows having effortless pigmentation and colours that are a far cry from the "old lady" style of days gone by.
