Here we are officially into Fall! I swear that the temperature dropped sharply right on September 22nd and has only continued! This morning, we hit single digits and soon they will be negative single digits (hopefully not negative double digits)! I know I keep saying this, but I am so freakin' behind on my reviews for pretty much everything, especially my beloved sheet masks and today's reviews for
The Pure Leaf Lotus Masks are part of that group. Slowly, but surely right? I know I sound like a broken record, but I am getting older and I don't have that 30 year old stamina anymore. I am hoping that I get a second wind in my 60s and 70s!
Soothing and Brightening
What makes this mask special? Pure Lotus is known for using pure white lotus leaf extract from Jeju Island collected using the "cold-air drying method" which minimizes nutrient loss making the products hopefully more effective! White Lotus Leaf has long been used for its traditional medicinal purposes and is known to be an antioxidant as well as a soothing and brightening agent.
This is a 2-step mask with the first step being an exfoliating pad to prepare and clear the skin of dead skin cells as well as aid in cell turnover. The second step is the microfibre mask which are actually made of fibres thinner than a human hair!
I will say that the first step does sting a bit with the main exfoliant being lactic acid, but I would describe the sensation more as pinpricks than anything uncomfortable.
The actual sheet mask essence contains brightening ingredients like niacinamide and green tea extract as well as hydrating and soothing ingredients like Jeju Lotus and Petal Leaf extract,

Mask Fit: Really nice! This type of microfibre mask is always comfortable and folds over facial contours so nicely.
Tackiness: Light-medium
Hydration: High - definitely one to use in the drier months and not in the dead of summer like I did! Although if you have AC going, this mask will help!

What makes this mask special? Obviously same reason as the first mask with regards to using lotus leaf extract and having the first step be an exfoliating step using lactic acid.
This particular mask focuses more on targeting fine lines also contains peptides which stimulate collagen synthesis and bring back some the skin's natural bounce and elasticity.
I love that both masks are pink! I used the Wrinkle Treatment one first which had the pink packaging so I thought the blue packaging meant the sheet mask itself would also be blue, but that's ok - pink works too!

Mask Fit: Really nice! Microfibre fits the contours of face perfectly and always has a bit of stretch.
Tackiness: Medium. This one felt tackier than the previous mask probably due to how much more hydrating it was.
Hydration: High - I used this in the summer and the thought of applying moisturizer on top was intense and I stuck to my pillow a little bit as well. I would be curious how these two masks would be for my skin in the winter.

Final verdict: Very hydrating masks and I always enjoy it when there is a gentle exfoliating step right before built into the mask! I might give these masks another try this season where the moisture might be more welcomed! I actually noticed radiance and brightness in my skin after using both masks, but other than the pink one feeling more hydrating, my skin initially looked the same for both.
