SHEET MASK | Miniso x Strawberry Shortcake Sheet Mask Collection

I completely forgot about Sheet Mask Sunday last Sunday as we were recovering from a Halloween party from the night before. I swear that now if I stay out past 10pm I am a zombie the next day and it is even worse if I stay out on a work night. I often struggled with it even in my early 30s and now I actually start to feel physically ill around 9pm if I am still out which is so sad, but I guess that's the joy of getting older 😩.

This is the era of nostalgia and I am all for it as I loved watching Strawberry Shortcake and her friends growing up so when I saw these sheet masks at Miniso while out on my work lunch break, I had to grab all three scents!

 
Hydrating Blueberry Mask

I was really hoping these masks were printed, but sadly it was only the packaging that was fun and even the scents of the masks weren't all that dessert-like. While there are fruit extracts like strawberry and blueberry extract, they are at the very end of the ingredients list. The main featured ingredient is provitamin B5 or panthenol, which is a humectant that draws in moisture to keep skin hydrated, which is actually near the top of the list!

I only took one set of photos as all three masks looked identical.

Mask Summary:

Price: I cannot remember exactly, but they were somewhere between $2-$3 CDN.

What it does: Hydrate

Scent: Faint blueberries, but if you didn't tell me what the scent was, I would have just guessed some generic berry scent.

Essence Type: Lightly viscous and slightly cloudy

Duration: 30 minutes, but this was pushing it as the areas around the mouth and eyes started to dry out.

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: I call this the "moon face" sheet mask where no slits are cut and the mask is not contoured to the face. I cut slits on the side of the nose so that there was no lifting here.

Tackiness: Light to medium

Hydration: Dry around the eyes, but everywhere else was pretty good.

Other notes: Mask material soaks up essence well and is very soft

Hydrating Strawberry Mask

There are two different sizes of hyaluronic acid in this mask and as the featured ingredient is found midway and at the end of the ingredient list. The strawberry extract is also near the end of the list.

Mask Summary:

What it does: Hydrates 

Scent: Faintly floral

Essence Type: Lightly viscous and clear

Duration: 30 minutes, but again the moustache and eye area were a bit dry by the end.

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: I cut slits on the side of the nose so that there was no lifting here. 

Tackiness: Light. Definitely less than the blueberry mask.

Hydration: Pretty good

Other notes: Mask material soaks up essence well and is very soft.

Hydrating Orange Mask

This mask features vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid found just past the halfway point of the list as well as orange and strawberry extract found at the end of the ingredients list.

Mask Summary:

Price: I cannot remember exactly, but they were somewhere between $2-$3 CDN.

What it does: Brightens 

Scent: Faintly floral

Essence Type: Lightly viscous and clear

Duration: 30 minutes, but again the moustache and eye area were a bit dry by the end.

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: I cut slits on the side of the nose so that there was no lifting here. 

Tackiness: Light. Definitely less than the blueberry mask.

Final verdict: I am sure we can all agree that the packaging is very cute, but I didn't love how the mask fit or that the preservative phenoxyethanol is that the top of the ingredients list while the featured ingredients are at the bottom. It just makes me feel like I'm not getting the full benefits of the mask. I will not be repurchasing!
