On this final day of 2025, I am choosing to feature Korean brand APLB ("A plus B") because I have been seeing this brand on my IG feed for awhile now and finally got the opportunity to try one of their brightening products! I have purchased a few APLB sheet masks, but have yet to try them out so this Glutathione Niacinamide Body Lotion is going to be the first of I'm sure many APLB reviews!

APLB is known for its gentle, but effective formulas for all skin types with even the most sensitive of skin being able to use their brightening products. The Glutathione Niacinamide collection is one of the more celebrated lines as it delivers effective and moisturizing results using a patented complex known as LIPO GLUTA NIAC CEN. This complex delivers a smaller molecular mix of glutathione, niacinamide and Centella asiatica to refresh tired and dull skin while keeping it soothed and nourished.

While APLB has a host of face products products that I would love to try eventually, today we are focused on their fragrance-free body lotion which contains the brightening ingredients: beta glucan, niacinamide (1000ppm = 0.1%) and glutathione (1000ppm = 0.1%). This might seem like a low percentage compared to the 1-10% concentrations we have seen in facial products, but the higher concentration can be irritating to more sensitive skin types. Even my skin, which is pretty tough, gets red if I use a 5% niacinamide serum every night.

In addition to niacinamide and glutathione, there is of course Centella asiatica and madecassic acid to soothe redness and irritation.

Firstly, LOVE any body lotion that comes with a pump though I know that it gets tricky to get product out when it gets close to being empty. The texture of this lotion is non-sticky and absorbs quickly which, in a body lotion, is what I love as I don't like my clothing sticking to me. There is some dimethicone in the formulation which adds to the smoothness of the finish and ease of application.

Final verdict: So, I have only been using this about 2 weeks since I received it and as a body moisturizer, I love it. Texture and absorption are the main factors for me and both expectations were met! This will be an excellent moisturizer to use in the summer as I often struggle to find a very lightweight moisturizer that doesn't annoy me. In terms of fading dark spots and brightening skin, the featured brightening ingredients are at the halfway point and at a lower concentration that what we see in facial serums which already take anywhere from 3-6 months to see results so I would imagine that seeing results with this body lotion will be much longer.

Would you pick up a brightening body product like the APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Body Lotion? Happy New Year's Eve to All!
