This empties post has taken me almost a week to put together! For whatever reason, this is taking me a really long time! Last month was more about samples sizes for me which at this point is just as awesome seeing as how I have so many! I’m still quite pleased with my “performance” and I had great fun trying out all of these different products!
1.Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Sulfate Free Conditioner (250mL)
Acquired: April 2012
I’ve mentioned this as a favourite before last year and although I would buy it again, it won’t be for awhile as it has taken forever to get through! The only issue I had with this conditioner was that my hair became dry and brittle-looking when I DIDN’T blow dry it. I guess it responds better to heat?
2. Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray (50mL)
Acquired: 2011
I absolutely have to get another bottle of this stuff because of the smell! I don’t think it really made my hair more shiny that it already is, so I’m really just buying it for the scent. I am definitely addicted to Morroccanoil and cannot get enough despite how expensive their products are…
3. Wella Professionals Brilliance Conditioner (30mL)
Acquired: May 2012
I received this sample in a past Glossybox and it was surprisingly nice. The scent was quite strong, but thankfully I didn’t mind it much. My hair always felt so soft after using this and now that I have switched to another conditioner I really notice the difference.
4. Tresemme Split Remedy Shampoo (9mL)
Acquired: December 2012
The sample size wasn’t large enough for me to determine whether my split ends really were minimized so this product will stay a maybe for me.
5. Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner (9mL)
Acquired: December 2012
See above.
6. Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel (50mL)
Acquired: May 2012
I hated the consistency of this! The gel part is cool, but it almost becomes mucous-like in texture once I started rubbing it on my face which made this product so hard to finish. I was so happy to finally finish this. I was practically jumping for joy.
7. Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths (30 cloths)
Acquired: August 2012
I was quite excited to try these as the word “glacial” sounded very appealing. What was interesting about these cleansing cloths was that they foamed up! These cloths were a little bit rough on the skin and left a bit of a residue which makes me hesitate in buying these again.
8. Pure + Simple Calming Cucumber Mask (20mL)
Acquired: July 2012
This is another product that I felt like murdering towards the end because I could not tolerate the smell anymore! It smells like cucumber, but overly fake…I was okay with the scent in the beginning, but it was almost nauseating in the end. As for relief, it definitely did the job and felt refreshing on the skin.
9. Glamglow Tingling & Exfoliating Mud Mask (7mL)
Acquired: February 2012
This didn’t tingle for me, so have I waited too long to use it? It was a very gritty scrub and scared my fiance everytime I used it as this scrub looked like a sand mask. I don’t know if I would buy it again only because I have other scrubs that suit my skin much better.
10. L’Occitane Fabulous Serum 5% Shea Butter (7mL)
Acquired: November 2012
I loved this serum! I love everything L’Occitane, but their skincare is something I am not entirely familiar with so I was quite happy to find that this serum agreed with my skin.
11. Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream (1.5mL)
Acquired: February 2013
I didn’t think much of this cream when I first saw it in my February Glossybox, but amazingly, the consistency was great and delivered the perfect level of hydration! I would totally get a full size of this!
12. Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream (1.5mL)
Acquired: February 2013
Same thoughts as above!
13. Biotherm Blue Therapy Serum (1mL)
Acquired: February 2013
From the tiny sample I was able to try, I did enjoy the consistency and how it felt on my skin. I almost picked this up two months ago during a Shoppers Event, but chose an Origins one instead purely based on price. I still would love to give the full size version of this a try.
14. Clarins Double Serum (1mL) x 4 packs
Acquired: February 2013
This very nice salesperson at Shoppers gave me four of these because they are just single-use packs. Four days wasn’t enough for me to see any visible results though and this is a fairly expensive product so I’m not sure about it yet…
15. Nature Republic Snail Therapy Mask Sheet
Acquired: December 2012
I got this in a care package from Nadine and I really liked it! Yes, it had snail essence in it, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it! I would definitely want to get it again if I could in Canada!
16. Clinique Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine in Pink Champagne
Acquired: 2008(!!)
Yeah. That’s right. I’ve had it that long. This colour doesn’t even exist anymore! I actually really love it and this was my second tube of it, so I hope I can find a replacement for it!
17. OPI Original Nail Envy (15mL)
Acquired: July 2012
I will never be without this. Ever. I have two bottles of the matte version in waiting that I purchased at a 2 for 1 price at Winners for $19.99. This stuff is great and has saved my nails and made them so strong. I highly recommend it!
18. eos Medicated Lip Balm in Tangerine
Acquired: 2011
I liked this at the beginning and then it just got very “medical” in scent and I’m sure the scent itself never changed, but my nose that did…I don’t think I’d get this again. There are other eos scents that are much more appealing.
19. Julep One-Step Polish Remover Pad x 3
Acquired: November 2012
I didn’t like these at first, but now that I only use them with creme polishes, they are fantastic! They work really well for the first five nails and then the last five require quite a bit more rubbing, but the texture of the cloths removes every last trace of polish. I’m pretty amazed at how well they remove creme polish from every nook.
20. Fortune Cookie Soap Whipped Cream in “Honey Dew Me” (30mL)
Acquired: February 2013
To die for scent and texture!! I would totally get the full size of this! It was fun to use because it was radioactively yellow and smelled just like honey dew!
21. Unknown White Pot of Stuff (15mL)
Acquired: 2013 sometime?
It smelled a lot like very strong incense. Like being in a Buddhist temple. It was musty and just wasn’t for me.
22. skoah Body Skrub (230g)
Acquired: December 2012
Give me more of this stuff I love it! I’ve written about this scrub before and I will absolutely get another tub of this stuff!
23. I Love Coffee Hand Cream (0.5oz)
Acquired: January 2013
Just no…it started smelling funny within a few weeks of being opened. Almost a sour, rancid smell…I had to throw it out because it smelled so awful AND was hard as a rock.
24. Laline Body Cream in Ocean (60mL)
Acquired: November 2012
I received this from my swap with Michal from Israel and it isn’t fruity, but wow am I in love with the scent of “Ocean”! It’s refreshing, clean and reminds me of fresh laundry. I tried ordering this online, but the shipping to Canada is ridiculous!
25. STEAMCREAM Moisturizer (75g)
Acquired: August 2012
Collectable tins, lavender and an all-natural, all-purpose moisturizer? Yes please! There isn’t a lot of product in each tin for the price, but this truly is a great product that everyone should try!
26. The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray (100mL)
Acquired: September 2012
This is must have for me after a long day at work. The smell makes my feet and mind feel better, not to mention tingly! My feet that is!
27. Wine Delights Pina Colada Natural Shower Gel (50mL)
Acquired: January 2013
This smelled alright, but was nothing special. What I really disliked about this shower gel was how watery it was! I was practically dumping out the bottle just to get a decent lather out of it!
28. Lush Godmother Soap
Acquired: July 2012
This is a great-smelling soap and is one that I would gladly buy again. If you adore Snow Fairy, you will love this scent!
29. L’Occitane Hand Cream in Desert Rose (30mL)
Acquired: October 2011
Love L’Occitane hand cream and I have mentioned this as a favourite before. It was limited edition so it’s not available now, but I would certainly get it again if I could.
30. L’Occitane Extra Gentle Soap (100g)
Acquired: February 2013
This is a highly moisturizing bar soap with shea butter and is so so gentle on sensitive skin. Highly recommended!
31. Julep The Best Pedi Creme Ever (2mL)
Acquired: 2012 sometime
I keep getting these samples even though I have two full size bottles! Cucumber and mint is a great combination that I’d use on the hands and body too! Very moisturizing and makes for a great pedi!
32. Palmer’s Olive Butter Formula (2.5mL)
Acquired: December 2012
This sample was oh so little, but was really quite nice. I would buy it if I could find it here as I received this from a swap with Sian.
33. Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub (2mL)
Acquired: 2012
I have a love/hate relationship with this scrub as there are days when I like the smell and others were it smells almost “industrial” to me. It does make my hands soft though, so it DOES work.
34. I Love Coffee Massage Bar
Acquired: January 2013
AWFUL! Greasy to the point of being sticky and smelled so old…like the hand cream…I painfully used up every last bit. Even when I dropped it on the carpet and couldn’t get all of the carpet fibres out…
35. Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Hand Therapy (5g)
Acquired: February 2013
Very nice! The sample lasted about three uses for me, but was very hydrating without being greasy. Smelled great too!
36. Rose Petal Body Lotion (8mL)
Acquired: December 2012
The rose scent was too strong and overpowering. I’m not a 60 year old woman yet so I won’t be using a lotion like this for awhile…
Whew! That took way too long! I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
Holy mother of god that's A LOT of empties!
ReplyDeleteI actually quite liked the pure and simple set, not too fond of the smell but the feel of it on the face was nice.
LOL, I try to average at least 30 empties both sample and full size. It's amazing what you can finish if you put your mind to it!
DeleteWhoa, that was insane! The sheer volume of products you use up is impressive ^^ I so want to try the Moroccan oil everybody raves about but it's not available here so I guess I'll go for the Nuxe one. Thanks a lot for all the reviews Jayne : ) xx
ReplyDeleteSheer determination gets me through all of those empties, but samples are surprisingly easy to get through if you just keep plugging away at them. I haven't tried the Nuxe one, but I've been wanting to try the brand for awhile. I'm glad you enjoyed the reviews!
DeleteGreat job finishing things up! I love the icons next to each product. It makes it really easy to see what you think of each one. That collectible tin is adorable. I'd definitely be tempted to buy the product just for the tin. :-)
ReplyDeleteI know the icons are classic and cheesy, but they work right? It's also faster than typing and nothing beats a universal thumbs up or down! You saw that I bought a SteamCream just for the cat tin? They are too cute to resist!
DeleteLOL way to use a smelly AND hairy massage bar, sounds appealing ;)
ReplyDeleteYou finished up so much stuff, good job!
Oh man, Julie it was SO brutal to use up once it dropped on the carpet!! I tried washing it and it so did not work!
DeleteWow! You did such a great job with your empties!
ReplyDeleteIt would take me a week def to finish a post like this one!
I've been trying to get through my peppermint foot spray from the body shop too!
www.blondeebrittany.blogspot.ca
The peppermint foot spray I use so often because it has become a routine for me when I take of my heels at the end of the day. When I was a student, it definitely didn't get quite as much use!
DeleteHoly WOW! I said it before you are diligent!
ReplyDeleteMY dog ate the Crabtree & Evelyn sample LOL From what I could tell it smelled great.
LOLOLOL!!! Awww, Pepper!! I'm glad someone enjoyed it!
DeleteI just stick with my little bucket and just plough away through those samples! I just wish I'd stop BUYING and keep using!
I loved reading this post! Especially the icon and the date acquired. Congrats on finishing these items. Treat yourself to a haul soon? :P
ReplyDeletenotanobession.blogspot.com
Oh I don't know if I should haul...I have so much more stuff to go through, my huge Rubbermaid is overflowing! I'm happy you like the icons! I figured they were quicker to read than words and it's nice to see how long I've actually had an item. Some items I've had for just way too long!
DeleteI commend you for being able to finish so many products! I forgot if I told you last time...but I like that you put little emoticons hehe
ReplyDeleteLOL, I'm glad you like the icons! It's easier to read when it's a symbol right? I just keep ploughing away through the sample stash, but it grows faster than I can use them!
DeleteI got samples of the Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle creams from glossybox, and it the mail, and even though all the reviews say its awesome I cant bring myself to use it since Urea is mammal urine! eek!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the morroccan oil glimmer spray is one of my favorite products, but the scent of it to me isnt like the actual morroccan oil at all :( Maybe my bottle is rotten? Now I'm sad. haha
Aww, I can understand your hesitation with the urea. It doesn't really bother me too much.
DeleteHmmm, no my glimmer spray smells divine! Aleeza from Stylish and Literate can attest to glorious scent of glimmer shine as well!
Well then, I'm going to have to go to the salon and check out another bottle!
Deletethanks for the reply:)
oh my, you finished so many products in march!! i'm working on finishing the cucumber calming mask in april... i think mine is "off" as it smells funky too and i don't remember it smelling that way when i first tried it. i only have 1-2 more uses and then it will be done!
ReplyDeleteOk, maybe my cucumber mask was off then because I do remember being able to tolerate it at the beginning. The effects were pretty soothing, so points for that. Good luck and I'm sure I'll see it as one of your empties next month!
DeleteI love reading empties posts! So much fun to see what others have tried and liked/not liked. And it always gives me some ideas on products I would like to try in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love reading them too! I love that each product has a quick mini review.
DeleteYou did so well! I really want to try Nail Envy. I hope I can find it at Winners sometime!
ReplyDeletegreat post i wish i could finish so many products
ReplyDeleteim tring to finish the bigger one first
btw im just looked at some blogs and i enter here and i saw your pic and you were familiar and then i saw my name hahaha
